The best technical wrestler of all time is...
Bret Hart. Some question his lack of charisma or interview skills, but the truth is, he didn't need them. If you doubted what Bret said, watch him, that was all the convincing you needed to know that he could beat you. His ability to adapt to his opponents also stands out, it didn't matter if it was another technician in the ring with him (Benoit), a brawler (Austin) or a limited big man (Sid), Bret could work with their abilities or around them if the case needed.
The most charismatic wrestler of all time is...
The Rock. Some of us (me) didn't notice it at the time, but Rocky was amazing with a mic in his hands. With a lack of wrestling skills, Rock needed charisma to get him over and boy (along with help from Mick Foley) did he. Probably the person with the most highlight reel interviews of all time. Its more evident now how much we miss the Rock more then any other wrestler, that includes Austin and Hogan.
The best match ive ever seen is... (plz give a date)
Undertaker Vs Mick Foley, Hell in a Cell, King of the Ring, June 28, 1998. Not the best match in work rate, but easily the most memorable. Foley sealed not only his legacy in this match, but the Undertaker cemented his own. Foley took more punishment in this match then any man should in their lives. Not to be overlooked but The Undertaker was working with a bad (possibly broken) ankle and without him this match would have been short and lackluster, it was Taker who took charge once Foley was knocked out after the second big bump.
The best theme song ever is...
nWo. For some reason this song always sticks in my mind, maybe because it came at the height of the wrestling era, maybe because it signified a new era with first heel Hogan (for most of us anyway), but when you heard that music, for a long time you knew something memorable was going to happen.
The worst technical wrestler of all time is...
There's way too many stiffs out there to list, but lets go with someone with very little athletic ability. Hulk Hogan. You can quote some of the current world champions and there lack of move set, but plain and simple, in the ring, Hogan sucked. His annoying "back scratcher" that most wrestlers actually HAD to sell was an embarrassment. The only time he ever left the mat was for about 18 inches on his just as cheap Leg drop of Doom finisher. His punches looked very weak and most of the time you could see him hitting his own hand rather then the other guys head. He was however a great performer because he had what is probably the biggest factor in wrestling and easily the most overlooked, timing.
The worst promo-cutter of all time is...
I'm not going to include guys who don't say much or hardly ever get the mic (Boogeyman, Khali, Umaga, ect), but someone who gets mic time, Randy Orton. Orton to me, is boring on the mic. His lack of intelligence is mind numbing. Why would he tell Edge that they are no longer a team one second and then two seconds later ask him if Edge had his back that night? Doesn't make sense. Orton also does not have the charisma that some people make him out to have. His anger does not get the across point very well and flat out, can't hold anyone's attention and his smugness is just no longer effective. He had a huge amount of potential, but Triple H killed that and its sad, Orton had tons going for him, he was believable as the legend killer and Foley put a lot of work into him.
The most talented diva ever is...
Molly Holly. Taking nothing away from Trish Stratus who worked VERY hard to be taken seriously as a wrestler, Molly just had it. Her moves looked more believable then some of the male wrestlers, she was crisp in delivery, wasted very little effort inside the ring and she had the all important tangible mentioned earlier, timing. Keeping in mind that female wrestling skills are not that of any man's (no offense to anyone), you could consider her the female Chris Benoit, just not as stiff.
The hottest diva ever is...
Sunny. Taking nothing away from Sable, but Sunny was the first real diva, her talent in the ring was limited, so she kept away from it. Her gimmick was great as she made it simple, win and you keep me, lose and you lose me. She was stunning, the most downloaded woman of 1997 I believe. Maybe its because she never officially posed nude for the masses, but her clothes were not as revealing as Sables or some of the other divas today, but she was still super hotter then most because of that.
The worst storyline ever is...
Katie Vick. I don't want to bring up old scars that some of us have tried to bury it, but I think this storyline effectively killed off the Kane character from being a true blue main eventer and it also changed his history, and not for the better. It also showed Triple H's selfishness, lack of ability to help get someone over and continued his streak of holding guys back (RVD & Booker).
If i could kick a wrestler in the crotch it would be...
Wrestlers usually don't wear cups, so I wouldn't do that, it would suck ... for them anyway and me once they got ahold of me.
(girls only) If i could pash a wrestler it would be...
Uh ... what? I'm a guy though, so eh.
The match that will steal the show at wm23 will be...
The Money in the Bank, I keep saying this, its Edge and Matt Hardy, plus a ladder. I predict Edge will win (he's undefeated at WM and this would be a cheap way to end that), but I'd rather have Kennedy win.
Bret Hart is...
The best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be. We've mentioned the technician part, but he was also solid on the mic, never needed to be flashy, never gimmicky. How many other guys can you name that had a brilliant technical marvel at one Wrestlemania and then followed it up with a brutal Street Fight at the next?
Edge is...
The best heel in the business and proves you don't need to be the over the top tough guy (Hunter) to be effective. The best chicken heel since Ric Flair years ago. If you want to learn how to really be smug and arrogant, take notes.
HBK is...
The best performer of all time. I might get on him a lot, but there's no way I'd ever take away what he's done for himself and wrestling. When he was on, he was on. I will always respect him for giving it all he had against Steve Austin at Wrestlemania XIV (even after a little prodding from The Undertaker) with his injured back, in a match that he could have just gone through the motions, but didn't and made Austin's first World Championship even that much more memorable. But I will always remember his lack of professionalism and immatureness from the mid 90s. I will take him at his word that he is reborn and a new man, if that is the case, I respect him even more for changing his ways and wish him good luck and thank him for everything he has given us.
Cena is...
The present and the future. His timing is not all there, but I can't help but think three things. If 1, he hadn't been following the single most entertaining Era in industry history (Attitude/nWo/ECW), two of the greatest names in wrestling history (Austin and The Rock) and if he had some help (Bret had Shawn, Rock had Austin, Hogan had Piper, Flair had Sting, Taker had Foley), it would be a different story and he would be more accepted. Yes he has had the title for a long time, but so did Hunter. Yes a lot of kids and females like him, so was the case for Shawn Michaels. My true belief is this, Cena needs his heel turn to be more accepted. The same way Rocky Maivia needed it, so does Cena. Cena in my opinion carries himself like a true champion, you do not hear about drug issues (Orton) or backstage fights with Booker T (Batista), Cena also has a willingness to learn (he added the STF, a very simple, but when used well, effective hold), name some one else who has added something to his arsenal and desperately needs to do so? As fans, if we want to get back to the promise land, we need to stop holding it against Cena that he came after such a boom period, its not his fault people, he's only doing as he's told.
Cool survey, its refreshing to see something other then "is so and so hot" and "doesn't so and so suck?", thanks!
