How to make Toyota Corolla Use E-85 or is it safe to use plain E-85 without changing anything?

Question

Pretty much strait forward question. I am trying to use e-85 on 1999 Corolla and want to know if any conversion needs to be done to ECU? Is it safe to use full tank of E-85 on that car without doing anything to engine or computer?

As far as I know, there are currently no EPA certified kits or components for converting a gasoline-burning car to an E85 blend. That means that even if you were able to convert it, the conversion would likely be in violation of numerous federal and state laws. There may be an exemption for individual conversions, but I'd imagine the testing fees would be exorbitant.

At any rate, you'd really have to really poke around to find someone knowledgeable enough to even accomplish the conversion.

Unless it has been built to use e-85 at the factory, it will need to be modified by a mechanic. Don't ever use anything except what the manufacturer recommends!!

yes i agree, unless if the engine has been genuinely designed for e-85 use u need to have it modified by a mechanic or someone with the knowledge.

You do not this car is not e-85 compatible. Note there are no Toyota's that are e-85 compatible. Do not waste your time and money and they cause yourself a bigger high dollar headache later.
