Pain pills can cause rebound headaches. If that's the case, you need to stop taking anything for the headaches and allow the cycle to be broken. If its truly a migraine, not caused by pain meds, I recommend Imitrex. It's available in tablets, but I use the self-injector because it's faster and more effective.

I'm an OB/GYN nurse and headaches post c-section can have numerous causes. Lortab can cause blood vessels to dilate- and hence cause headaches. In the hospital we often recommend taking something with caffeine (excedrin or even drinking a soda)- to constrict the vessels- hence decreasing the headache. Try taking extra strength tylenol too...
Try to avoid taking the pain pills, and try just taking Motrin (up to 800mg) as long as you are not allergic to Aspirin- and try taking the lortab at night time- if you have to take it at all. No heavy lifting and just try and rest as much as possible. I had a c-section myself and I know that it hurts- but it does get easier! PROMISE! Hope this helps! PS you can ask him for Percocet- but it has the same effect.
