Is is ok to take Tylenol PM during pregnancy?
Additional Details
I don't have a doctor yet, so I can't just call him/her up and ask. If you are in the medical field, specifically an obstetrician, or midwife, please let me know your advice. Thank you.

Tylenol for pain, TUMS for heartburn/gas. That's IT. Nothing else unless it comes from your doctor.
Tylenol PM has something extra that should NOT be taken unless your doctor says it's okay. So until you can get to a doctor...regular Tylenol or TUMS. Those are your two choices.
Good luck!

Ask your doctor. It is his or her job to answer questions like that. Don't jeopardize the health of your child on anything that a complete stranger whom you have never met is telling you is ok.

It's not on the safe list. Don't take any medication other than regular Tylenol without discussing it with your doctor. In general, sleep aids are a no-no during pregnancy.

Dear Liss:
Try to remember you only get what you pay for in this Q&A room so why not ask your physician.
Best wishes,

Your never suppose to take acetaminophen of any kind during pregnancy. I would suggest Melatonin. It is a dietary supplement that you can take at bedtime to help you sleep. For pain take ibuprofen with it. That should be equivalent to Tylenol PM.

When i was pregnant i had a hard time sleeping, and the dr. let me take only 1 if needed. And during the last month i was advised not to take it because it can affect the baby's eyes in the last month. So the last month i was always tired. And my son was born healthy and no problems. So just talk to your dr. to see if its ok.

I take it.. I was told it is alright.
Benadryl also.
and to the idiot who said never take acetaminophen while pregnant is a friggin idiot.. it's the only pain reliever they tell you that IS safe to take.
Some people should stop answering questions when they don't know what the f*** they're talking about.

I was told by my doctor that's it's ok to take, but I still take it very sparingly. I know he wouldn't have me take it if it would hurt the baby, but I'm still a chicken lol.

If you already know you're pregnant, get yourself to a doctor ASAP! Don't take ANYTHING without asking him/her first! This includes any vitamins, supplements, herbs - ANYTHING! What might be right or ok for one person might be very wrong for you.
Better safe than sorry!
