Provera and clomid- a logical response?
i am TTC and i never get my period. like, once every 5 or 6 months if i'm lucky.
i was on provera once before to get my period, and i got it, then i got it again for 2 more months (yay!)
would a doctor prescribe provera for me to get my period and then clomid to get me to ovulate or is that far fetched?
also, when you take clomid... it is supposed to make you ovulate, right? so basically if you ovulate you will get your period. correct?
would it go something like provera until i bled then clomid every month after? like... will the clomid make me have a regular cycle?

you have it right. . if you are TTC, you would take provera, (after blood work done by your ob/gyn or fertility dr) then on a certain day of your cycle, to be determined by your dr, you would take clomid for 5 days and be monitored for ovulation. (every dr monitors differently) some women need a stronger dose of clomid than others. it goes anywhere from 50mg a day to 350mg. I have PCOS, and w/my 1st child, i concieved using Clomid 100mg a day and IUI. make sure you see a doctor who realizes that you may not always ovulate on day 21...until i saw a specialist, my ob/gyn would test me on day 21, and tell me no ovulation...when i finally saw an reproductive specialist, she determined i ovulated w/clomid around day 26. IF u ovulate w/clomid you would have a 'regular' cycle. if you don't ovulate on the dose they give you, you would take provera again, and try a different dose of clomid.
