Amphetamine salts aka: adderall?

I'm taking a generic of aderall... it's called amphetamine salts, alot of people said it would make me loose my appetite and I’ve taken it twice and I really haven't notice a difference... does it take a few days of taking it before that kicks in... or am I just lucky? (i'm taking 10 mg)

I've taken Adderall and I did have such a reduced appetite my doctor removed me from it so I could gain weight again. From what I remember it may take a week or more before you feel the side effects if you are even going to have any. Each person is different and yes, you may be on of the lucky few who don't experience side effects.

In humans, appetite suppression effects of amphetamine decrease dramatically within two weeks.

In dogs the effects continue without the development of tolerance to the point that the dog starves to death, even though food is available.

One side effect of adderall, or amphetamine salts, is that it can reduce appetite. It doesn't alway happen to everyone, and the dose effects it as well. Remember it's a side effect. Acutally when adderall was first developed, it was marketed as a diet drug. However, it didn't take long for science to relize that the effect of weight loss was temporary. Once the paitient stopped taking the drug, the weight came back, many times even more weight than original. This is because the speed effects of the drug increase the metabolism. You take away the drug and the metabolism decreases, and the who chemistry of the body is altered. Now you are taking a relatively small dose, but every person is different. If you start to experience weight loss, talk with your doctor. You may want to try another drug and see if you have less side effects. There are also drugs for ADHD/ADD that don't rely on speed effects.

Adderall/amphetamine salts is in your system and effecting you from 15-30 minutes after you take and then only for several hours. You withdraw from the drug after that and it is out of your system (however, reading several "Answers" on here it is detectable in your system for several days). The effects and side effects can vary from person to person and for me it is from time to time but Adderall seems to be more consistent then Ritalin.

It is hard to think back to my first pills but after a while, you will get to learn how the pills and your dosage affect you.

I generally get busy with work (a good thing) that I forget about lunch (not too bad a thing because I need to loose some weight) but am usually hungry when the pills wear off.
