How can I download the Avenir font for free?

Question

This is a commercial font and I cannot find any websites that allows free downloads yet. I have already tried www.dafont.com but it is not available there either.

I did a cursory search because I am a font collector -- damn, I didn't realize fonts could get so expenseee!!

But back on topic, your best bet is to do a search (admittedly tedious) through the many free font databases available online. Someone, somewhere, will have ripped off Avenir and will have it under their own name - perhaps some variation on the original.
