Do older men have sex less than younger men? Is this true?

Ok I'm with someone who is 45, going on 46. We have sex an average of once or twice per week maybe. We used to have sex about once or twice a day (before I was pregnant).

We still enjoy it but he will often say he's not the man he used to be when he was 20. I think this is just an excuse. Is it true that men who are older have or want sex less than younger men?

I miss our sex life. Hopefully it will go back to the way it was before we ever made the baby after we have it. If it doesn't I dont know how long I could do this. I'm almost 35. I'm in my prime!!

ok this sounds normal then. He says my belly gets in the way. I'm sure it does. It's just I'd do it everyday if I could, but I can't always get him up either. Also I havent gotten off for months now (not since the belly came into play). It was much funner when I had no belly. Maybe we need new "moves".

Why do people have to get rude when they don't know the story of a persons life? My fiance and I CHOSE to make a baby. He went through a vasectomy reversal for this so I believe he wanted it as much as I did. One woman had a very dumb reply. Not warranted so please no smart remarks.

When a relationship is new you always have sex more often. So I wouldn't be surprised that it has eased off a bit. A couple of times a week is still a pretty good average. I do think it is true that as men get older the sex is not as frequent. BUT for me and hubby the sex has got better. So less sex but better sex.....Although, each person is different. Help yourself out if you are needing it more often.

who knows, my husband wants it for breakfast lunch and dinner but he's in his mid twenties. Just accept the fact that he may have a lower drive than you do. He could just be weirded out by the preggo issue, some men just are not into that. Good luck.

It varies depending on the man. I've known young men whose drives weren't very strong, and 40-somethings who wanted it all the time.

It's been quite surprising to me to notice how much less I think about it than I used to.
It's absolutely true that older guys experience waning levels of hormones. It's not an excuse, and some guys get really anxious about it.
The irony here is that those of us guys 40+ and older have to think about creating it, much like you gals have to.

Some men do experience a lessened sex drive as they get older, but it's not a given. My boyfriend is almost 50 and he's like a teenager sometimes...lol...I'd say talk with him about it and let him know how you feel.

Well my husband is 53 and I'm 45 so yes they slow down as they get older from my experience anyway but don't give up hope, I haven't.

Exactly that. You're in your prime; he's not. It's not an excuse on his part. It becomes harder for men to become aroused the older they get, plus they're tired more quickly and have their focus on something other than the physical. Either sit down and have a talk with him about how you want more, or you're going to be in for some disappointment as he continues to get older.

It is very normal for the guy to slow down after the age of 40. Do not put the blame on you and do not make him feel bad either. He could go to the doctor and they will prescribe him some viagra or other kind of pill if he is having difficulty acheiving an erection.

I am a younger female and like older men around the ages you have mentioned. My ex is 46 and still wants it but can't quiet go for as long as he used to. (we were together for 8 years) My new guy who just turned 43, was great! He can go forever, but I do think that their age starts to effect them in some ways in the sex area.
