Donating junk car to charity?
What is the best charity to donate to, as far as most reputable.
I was looking at Kars 4 kids, but I saw something that said that they don't help homeless children like they claim, but educate Jewish children to stay away from gentiles, so that's a no go.
Any ideas?

"It doesn't say it raises cash exclusively for Oorah Inc., a New Jersey-based charity that provides religious education for kids of non-observant Jews.
On its Web site, Oorah boasts an "80 percent success rate" teaching its clients "to keep themselves apart from the gentiles." "
I'm not arguing with you, if that's wrong, then please, tell me why.

If you're looking for a wider range of options why don't you sell it for scrap (if it really is junk) and take that cash and give it to the charity of your choosing? You should be able to get at least a couple hundred out of it. I would recommend you give the proceeds to the JDRF :D they are a worthy cause, but that's just me.

- Ya that's probably the best way to do it, I was just trying to get free towing too.

It used to be that you could deduct the fair market value of your car; however, the process has now changed. You have to wait until the donee company sells the car, then you can use that amount for deduction.
If it's a junker car, it wouldn't be worth much. I agree with the above poster, you could probably make more money by junking it.
And Kars 4 Kids doesn't "educate Jewish children to stay away from gentiles," but rather is an offshoot of Joy for Our Youth, which focuses on orthodox Jewish education.

Try donating it to Habitat for Humanity or Goodwill, they repair the car and help single moms get a job and back on their feet. Many need transportation. Some schools that teach auto mechanics repair them and then donate the repaired vehicle to a deserving person.
