Vagina after giving birth...?

Question

My friend who is two weeks away from having her first child told me that after giving birth a woman's vagina never goes back to normal to the way it was before. Ofcourse, she says that there are reported cases where the women says it oes back to normal, some say there is a slight difference, and some says that the difference in the vajjj has caused the break up of their marriage or relationship.
She also told me that before she got pregnant she never heard of it, i've never heard of it either because she says that women are afraid to talk about it as it is embarrassing. No is this true?
I always heard the vagina is like an elastic, but I guess even elastics loses its elasticity after a while. What do you think???

Additional Details

For the men. Have you noticed a difference with your significant other after they have given birth. Or is it just the women who are being paranoid?

It is very normal to wonder or worry about this, I know I did. But after two children I cannot notice a difference in the size, and my husband has said it's just as snug as before. I highly recommend doing kegel exercises, they really help this area get back into and stay in shape.

Most women I've talked to about it actually said that their vagina size went back to normal. Some have even said that they felt a bit tighter (according to their husbands/boyfriends). However, each woman's body is different.

I having 4 have nocited a difference now but after 2 or 3 no. I am guessing like you said after a while after so many children.

My fiance said he did not notice a change. It's nothing to worry about..just think of the prize you get from it!!

unless you friend has had 4 or more babies i wouldn't worry about it. Her first child isn't gonna do anything to lower extremities after he is born she will be fine as long as she waits the full 6 weeks before she practices making another one.

First of all if a man would leave his partner over that he was a loser to begin with. good riddance lol. sorry but that is just petty and dumb.

Secondly it is elastic and can go back to normal. Obviously the more children you have the more stretched out you may become. Kegel exercises work wonders throughout pregnancy to give you more control when you push and afterwords to return things back to normal.

Women should not be embarrassed to talk about their own bodies. I don't know why there is such a stigma of shame around it.

There are also surgical techniques to correct things like this if the woman feels it necessary for her own pleasure.

You are right though, as we age and the more we use those muscles the more we lose the "elasticity" in those vagina muscles.

After a first child most women's vagina muscles go back to normal however, older age as well as giving birth many times will put wear and tear on those muscles.

But it should not be a significant change that would cause your man to leave you!

This should be the least of your worries.
