Ok...this is a bit complicated but this is how its done...

To get auto tune to work in audacity you must follow these steps..

http://www.audacityteam.org/vst/ go there and download the plugin..

go to my computer --> LocalDisc (c:) --> program files

there should be two folders that say audacity...one simply says "audacity" the other says audacity 1.3 beta or w/e u have...open the AUDACITY folder

Click plugins...copy the file vst-bridge.dll

go back to program files open up AUDACITY 1.3 BETA folder

go to plugins and past the vst-bridge.dll file in there..

restart and open audacity..look in the effects menu and autotune should be there

To get the t-pain effect.. set your auto tune to these settings

key = c
scale = major
retune speed = 0
scale detune = 4 cents, 441.0 hertz
humanize = 0
natural vibrato = 0.0

now whats most important
rate = .1
onset delay = 0
variation = 0
onset rate = 0
pitch amount = 0
amplitude amount =30
formant amount = 100

I just downloaded audacity today and put my autotune plugin in it as well... Have fun and good luck

Hey i was just messing around with audacity...its a little different setting i think... (my old setting were used in sony acid)

To get the t-pain effect.. set your auto tune to these settings

key = c
scale = major
retune speed = 0
scale detune = .04 cents, 441.0 hertz
humanize = 0
natural vibrato = 0.0

now whats most important
rate = .1
onset delay = 0
variation = 0
onset rate = 0
pitch amount = 0
amplitude amount =.3
formant amount = 1

Ok well I was able to get Autotune onto Audacity but the settings are way different from what you put.
Everything is in decimals. Audacity has a weird format..

This doesn't work. Gives me a "temporarytopwindow" window. So I deleted it and I'll find a different way to do this.

WRONG, you said what's most important is the vibrato setting?? i believe you don't know what your talking about, what you are supposed to do is find the key the song that you are singing over, C D E.. whatever and if its in minor or major.. use the setting appropriate for the song..

Awesome! I could do it! I followed your instructions. Only, I had 1 folder instead of two. I went to my Antares folder, copied the plug ins from there and pasted them into the plugins FOLDER in the AUDACITY folder. Sounds complicated but its simple! Thank you so much, Mr. Jason R! ♥
