"Ring Around the Rosy" is about death, but all the little kids still sing it.

Some of them are violent! I never realized until I started reading them to my baby.... baby falling out of a tree, birds being cooked in a pie, kids rolling down a hill... etc..

"Ring Around the Rosie" is about the black plague.
"Sing a Song of Sixpence" is rumored to actually have been a covert way of attracting pirates, but has been debunked as a myth.

I always thought rock a bye baby was sad:
Rock-a-bye baby on the treetop
When the wind blows the cradle will fall
Down comes baby cradle and all
i mean its about a baby falling and they never said the baby lived the fall.

London Bridge Is Falling Down.
Definitely bad news for the British tax payer.
