I think it starts with choosing a quality tea. remember not to overheat the water, boiling is way too hot, your tea will be bitter.

Here is the method of how to make chai as you requested:
1. Add water in pan.
2. Add sugar, tea leaves and spices.
3. Bring to boil and simmer for a minute or so.
4. Add milk.
5. Bring to boil and simmer for 3-5 minutes.
6. Strain tea in teapot.
To make chai for one person, one needs:
1 cup of water, see 1. above.
1 teaspoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of tea leaves and 1/4 teaspoon of
spices, see 2. above. (depending on how sweet, strong and spicy)
1/4 cup of milk, see 4. above. (depending on how milky)
NOTE: this tea is made with water but equally can be made with milk.
Spices can generally be proportioned as follows:
A. 1 one 1.5 inch cinnamon stick.
B. 3-4 cardamoms (with shell).
C. 2-3 peppercorns.
D. 2-3 cloves
E. 1/2 teaspoon of ginger powder.
Grind into a powder the items A-D and add E.
In winter fresh ginger chai is very good, add 1cm2 chopped ginger with the spices. Can also add pepper at the same time to give a warm feeling.
The spice list I mentioned is not complete. We usually add about 10 to 12 different types of spices for chai ground together. I am sorry I do not know the names of them in English.
I hope this helps you,

1.) Buy LOOSE tea, not tea bags.
2.) Put in exactly 1 teaspoon of loose tea per cup of water, plus one extra "for the pot."
3.) Put in water that has actually reached full boiling point. (Use a kettle.)
4.) Pour water on tea leaves. Do not stir. Allow to sit for 5 minutes.
5.) Pour onto strainer sitting on cup, stir while in CUP, not in tea pot. Let cool, and drink!

heat water, remove from heat, put the tea bag in, cover and let steep until desired potency, lighter is less, darker is more. Add cream sugar, whatever you prefer to taste.

I like brew tea. Tips I know is do not boil it. Do not use more bags then needed. Allow it to cool some before putting in pitcher. Do not use metal serve pitcher. You can use ice or water to delut to your desire. As for cup tea I presume about same except have bag in tea cup and dip till desire strenth. And of cource if you want hot or cooler use ice. I like a lemon with mine and sugar. Sweetner doesnt taste right but some like sweetner. *mamatx

Can somebody make me a cup of "Rosie"?
I love my cup of "Rosie Lee"!
I want my "cuppa"!
In case you are wondering what I am talking about, "a cup of "Rosie Lee", and "a cup of "Rosie", and "Cuppa" is British slang (Cockney slang ) which means "A cup of tea". :-)
When it comes to making a cup of tea, I just heat myself a cup of water, and place a tea bag in the hot water. I go by the color of the water and how brown it get. When the water gets to the degree of brownness that I want, I take the tea bag out and squeeze the tea bag to get all of the water out of it. I then proceed to put sugar and half and half in the cup of tea and stir the tea until mixed. Then I proceed to drink and enjoy my tea.
