Show me another »How do i get my web cam and voice activated in yahoo messenger?
when i log in to y/m and go to a chat room it says "this computer does not support the required audio compression format"

This applies to 8.1.0.421 and beta 9 versions of YM. There are no join chat room capabilities on the Yahoo Messenger for Vista that came out last week.
