Ok Tomarrow Im Having a surgical Procedure.an Hour before I go in I have to take valium.What Does it Do??

Valium (diazepam) is in a class of drugs called benzodiazepines. Valium (diazepam) affects chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced and cause anxiety, seizures, and muscle spasms.

It's a tranquilizer and will make you feel very relaxed. It has a euphoria to it, so you might feel mellow and will worry less about you operation.

i had it before i had eye surgery. It REALLY made me calm and definately not uptight and worried like I would have been!!! Wish I could have it for my root canal because the last one hurt me bad lol

It relaxes you.The only sideffect is amnesea(sp) were you literaly forget everything you just did.
