This is my wedding dress(Melody 217) beautiful as you can see, but the problem is the bust part of the dress was too big when they ordered it so they ran an elastic band accross the top of it in an attempt to fix it, now it looks all gathered and bunched up, they said this is the way this sort of problem is corrected. I would like the nice flat look like the model. How can i fix this since it is too late for the store to attempt to try and fix this again i'm afraid they will do more damage to it. Wedding is 31st of May.

ugh, what the hell dress store told you that? is there any way to take the elastic out carefully?

what they should have done was put two darts (they are small seems that gather just enough of the fabric to get it where you need it to be) under your arms, up near the top of the fabric in the same stitch the rest of the dress is stitched with.

find a reliable seamstress, and explain to her what happend. i had the same issue with a dress, and the seamstress put two darts in the top, you cant even tell they arent part of the dress. she NEVER mentiond a whole elastic band, that just seems silly to me

beautiful dress, and i really hope you get it fixed in time. if you do, i say take it into wherever put the elastic in, and show them how it REALLY should have been fixed, and ask for some kind of compensation, cause thats just rediculous that they pretty much ruined your dress

First, I would take it to an alterations person, who might be able to get it done before your wedding, but ask if they work on wedding dresses, as they're really complex. And second, a problem isn't corrected if it still looks like a problem! I would demand some money back from the shop where you bought your dress. What a scam!
