What are some things to do in the Gold Coast?

I am heading to the Gold Coast for 10 days to escape the winter blues. I'd love some advice on places to visit, restuarants to eat at, bars to visit and activities that I really shouldn't miss while I'm there.

Definitely visit...
-Dreamworld (the best themepark in GC!)
www.dreamworld.com.au
-Seaworld (good for children) www.seaworld.com.au
-Movieworld (pretty good as well for kids) www.movieworld.com.au
-Outback Spectacular (nextdoor to Movieworld)
www.outbackspectacular.com.au
-Conrad Jupiters (has a great buffet as well!)
-Pacific Fair shopping centre (next to Conrad Jupiters and the best shopping centre on the GC! It's great)
-Harbour Town (another great shopping outlet)

And the place you must go to is Surfers Paradise, it's got great little shops and bars and everything, and it's facing the beautiful beach so why not :)

It's pretty damn cold in GC at the moment, but I hope you enjoy your little stay !

xoxo

I know everyone says go to the theme parks, yeah there great but there more for kids and teenagers.
Big brother at dreamworld on a friday night might be a bit of fun, if your into it.
If your not into the touristy aspects of Gold coast then try heading into the hinterland and hiking around there.
nimbin bit further from the gold coast, thats always an experience.
for bars and shows jupiters is the place to go it has a caberet show and some nice bars.
if your not into the fancy bars then cavil avenue is the place somewhat touristy few nice little resturants some good bars down the end and a few seady places too...DONT GO TO "THE DRINK"...
take the monorail from the oasis ( another little shooping center nice resturants around there too) the mono rail goes to jupiters.
near the oasis shopping center is a surf life saving club cant remember the name its somthing funny like kuraurrawa it is the BEST place for lunch in all of Gold coast right on the beach get inearly gets busy get great veiws of the sea.
shopping pacific fair. also on a sat or sun cant remember there are markets near the oasis.
    hope this helps.

You should try to do something different if you want something memorable, special.

Buskering, talk to alot of locals there, meet guys, go to Surfers Paradise bars (really happening, and the feeling is soo amazing), watch the sun rise, go to the beach and try surfing, cycling along the coast lines, selling stuffs on night markets, strike conversation with foreigners as well, etc.

As for the food, try as much Aussie food as you can so just go in any hand food Aussie shops.

A visit to the Gold Coast isn't complete unless you visit the theme parks. They are Movieworld, Seaworld, Wet N Wild, Dreamworld and White Water World. The Outback Spectacular is becoming more popular as well.

    Click this link -> http://www.bridgepacific.com.au/package/landing_gold_coast_holiday.asp?ArrCity=Gold%20Coast

In the top right hand corner, there's links for you to check prices. Once you click one of the links, you can search even further for a whole range of Gold Coast activities. Have fun and enjoy!!

There's plenty to do, just take your time looking around and relax. Go to Currumbin Bird Sanctuary, a theme park or two, stroll the streets, lie on the beach, take a surfing lesson, drive down to Byron Bay for a day trip, drive up to Brisbane for a day trip (one hr each way from Gold Coast). You'll have a great time.

Be careful, its been pretty cold here if your trying to escape the "winter blues". What ever you do, you must get a superpass, it gives you unlimited entry to Movie World, Seaworld and Wet 'n' Wild over 14 days. It's great for you since you're going for 10 days. If your staying at Surfers Paradise, you'll find restaurants nearly everywhere. Most of the a pretty good. Hope i helped. Have a good time.

The Australian Outback Spectacular. Jupiters Casino have a show on called Zingara that you can do with a dinner option. Perhaps a cruise. Melba's has a restaurant, bar and club in all one. Habourtown have factory outlets for your shopping. Cavill Ave and Pacific Fair aren't to be missed. And the theme parks if they interest you, if after something not so ride dominated try Seaworld and Movieworld, they have lots of shows and more tame rides.

Dracula's Cabaret Restaurant is a must... brilliant night.... three course meal and a show... plus cocktails the size of your head... definitely worth the money... the staff are hilarious.

do not get bitten by a shark. Do not buy souvenirs they are all made in china. Go somewhere that is not so expensive and over rated. The drivers on the gold coast are the worst.

Go to the theme parks, Currumbin Wildlife sanctuary and Pacific Fair.

But if your not into the touristy things you could go to Mt Cougle national park or climb Mt Warning.
