Is the collecting duct or loop of henle distal to the DCT?
i am confused about the meaning of "distal" in this situation...

no...
Loop of henle is completely different portion of the nephron.
The first convoluted tubule is also known as Proximal convoluted tubule, and the second being known as distal.

No, the order in which urine filtrate occurs is it is filtered thru thru glomerular membrane into bowman's capsule which is actually the enlarged end of the proximal convoluted tubule from there it goes thru the loop of henle then to the distal convoluted tubule then to the collecting duct etc...
so the terms proximal and distal refer to the distance they are from the glomerulas
