What wedding band goes with a trellis solitaire?

Question

I am looking for a wedding band to go with my trellis platinum round solitaire. My ring is small 1/2 ct. I want something original, and more diamonds to spice it up, but don't know if its better to stick with a classic. I think this would have been easier if the mounting wasn't a trellis. Any suggestions?

I added a bit of spice to my ring but still kept a classic look, by adding a prong set diamond band on both the top and the bottom. The best thing about prong set, is that all you see is diamonds, no gold. So there's a lot of sparkle going on! My solitaire is only about a half carat too and it doesn't take away from it all. Just don't go too big with the diamonds on the bands.

Here is a link with an example of a prong set diamond band, so you can check it out. You could do just one for now and get a second one for your anniversary or you could get two right away to complete the ring.

It'll looked best all soldered together so you don't have to worry about the band turning around and exposing the gold, or you could get an eternity band (diamonds go all the way around) so you don't have to worry, but that could run the price up when its not really necessary.

I've got almost the same kind of ring as you!! I'm going with a beautiful 14K white gold band in the same width as my e-ring, and it has three small diamonds (probably about 1/4 ct. each) set right into the gold so they are flat. When you put the band under my e-ring, the diamonds form a pretty little sparkly cluster that is so elegant and lovely. Try to find one like that! Also, since the diamonds are flat, you'll still be able to see the unique trellis setting from a side view.

You could go with a channel set band, much like this one:

it has plenty of diamonds that are channel set and would sparkle like crazy. They also make them in 1/4 carat, 1/2 carat, 3/4 carat weights as well.

I'm having the same dilemma! I have a three-stone trellis setting, and I don't really think a plain band looks right with the intricacy of the trellis setting. I had my heart set on a trellis setting, but i never told my fiance, and low and behold he designs a three-stone ring with a trellis setting! It is a diamond centre stone with pink sapphires on each side, so I also have the trouble of matching something with the pink (but I LOVE it).

I have been looking at "shared setting" rings with diamonds and sapphires. We're going to have the jewelry designers that my fiance had make my ring do the bands, but I found the pictures at Tiffany's. Tiffany's is WAY too expensive for us, but luckily we know this designer who can make us the ring for basically cost + labour.

I'm sure once you know to search for "shared setting" you may be able to find similar rings at another jewelry store or online.

Actually I'd go with a classic plain platinum band. I don't like the way a solitaire looks with a wedding band with a row of diamonds - it just doesn't seem to go.

I have a solitaire engagement ring and got a "gypsy" wedding band to go with. It is a plain band with 5 small round diamonds inset and it looks nice, but doesn't take away from the solitaire. I am not a fan of channel setting personally.
