Do you agree with Sheens selections?

I can't believe that Sheens would leave Cameron Smith,Billy Slater and Greg Inglis out of this weeks 4 Nations game ..

He's resting players before we have to face New Zealand (most likely) in the Final the following week. I don't have a problem with his choices, it's the smart thing to do.

Yeah there is nothing wrong with it. Your beloved Storm players are a vital asset to the team, it is only against France, it isn't worth the risk of them getting injured and not being able to play next week in the most important game. Its not like they're being dropped, they are simply being rested. Ya should be thankful that Sheens is looking after them so good lol

And Simon, Sheens said he needs Hayne to stay on the wing and I couldn't agree more, the more he is used to playing there the better he gets. There is no point putting him at fullback just to put extra points on the French and risk injury, and than he has to change his style once again to go back on the wing, it's just not worth the trouble. Gidley is great at fullback too, he has been playing the role for a while now and its earned him the captaincy role of Newcastle and NSW so thats gotta say something. He isnt the best traditional fullback but he's one hell of a player, he wears his heart of his sleeve and leaves nothing to chance, the most courageous player I've seen in a long time. I know he won't let Australia down.

Simon T, you say Australia could win the 4 nations without Smith, Slater & Inglis..
Although they are a great side, you can't say that in the Australia v NZ game 2 weeks ago, Australia would have even got the draw without Inglis or Smith! And for Slater.. You probably could win without him, but i'm not so sure if Australia could if he played :)

I actually think it's a really smart thing to do. Not only is he resting the key players to prevent injury, he is also giving all the players who haven't played yet a go. Smith, Slater and Inglis have had a pretty tiring season and a break would do them some good. They're definitely going to be in the final so what's the problem with them sitting out one easy game?

Yes and no.

I agree with resting players but what i don't agree with is giving the full back position to Gidley instead of Hayne.

Gidley is a bench playing utility at best and should not even be over there as he is very overrated.

Hayne should have been at full back from the start with Slater either on the wing or on the bench as a sub.

Slater is good at running on to grubbers or passes from Cam Smith but lacks Haynes ball skills and kicking skills.

Gidley was bloody useless in the SOO and i can only hope he is put on the bench for next years SOO.
He is a great club player but does not rate in SOO or in the Kangaroos. But that's just my opinion.

As for the tools who are saying leaving Slater , Inglis and Smith out will cost us the game........... Get over yourselves.
Its a team game and there is plenty of talent still out there without those three.
Leave them out for the rest of the comp and we would still win.
They need to put Hayne who is there best attacking weapon at full back where he belongs instead of out on the wing with the biggest ball hog and most overrated player in the history of the game.... Justin Hodges.

Hayne is wasted out there and Sheens is a fool for sticking with it.
If he was going to waste him on the wing he should be on the other wing outside the woman basher ( Inglis ).

again, agree with resting those players, Kangaroos are already into the finals...but don't know why they've Gidley at fullback...with due respect, Hayne's performance would of justified him being Slater's replacement!!! Gidley should be resting one of the halves (Lockyer or Thurston). I think that's his preferred position!

Ps....The QLD/STORM Combo have been the attacking backbone for Australia...NO DOUBT. SO they deserve the rest!!!

I can understand giving some players a rest for the only real soft game they will have and these other guys need a run, but I have a real problemem with dropping Thaiday for the england game last week.
he was one of the best forwards against NZ. and this mucking around with smith in the england game almost lost it for Aust

i do agree. Freshen them up a bit before the final. If we lose against France it is because the rest of the team have let these players carry them. It will be good to see haw effective Lockyer is without some of the quality around him.

Nice of you to be biased. You didn't mention that Cooper Cronk would be in and he shouldn't. Tim Sheens is resting key players for the final. Anyway, Aussies beat the Frogs 42-4.

I like his decisions except I'd have Hayne at fullback and Gidley on the bench. But i see why Hayne has been left on the wing so gets used to it more. Gidley is one of the game's best fullbacks, very under rated.

It is a worry resting our Stars even though it is a good idea.I just hope that haynes,lockyer thurston step up so we can beat the french..It shouldn't be left to Storm players to keep winning the games for Australia.
