Morbidly obese on international flight.?

I live with my mom and we want to fly to Paris for vacation in a few months. My mom weighs around 510 pounds. She is pretty big and sometimes she even has problems fitting into the front seat of the car. Would the seats on the plane be big enough for her to fit? If not could we just by 2 seats for her? Also, since it will be a long flight will she be able to fit in the bathroom?

She will need to buy 2 seats. If she shows up for the flight with only one ticket and there is no other seats available, she will have to get off the flight and take the next available flight that has an available seat. This can be very embarrassing and the cost will be a great deal higher if she has to buy a last minute ticket.

Also, the bathroom will be too small. I'd recommend using an adult diaper such as Depends just in case she absolutely has to go.

It's great that you are both going and that you are being supportive of your mom. Don't let her weight stop her from enjoying life. It might be a little more inconvenient for her than it is for other people to travel but with your support, it can be well worth the effort!

One other suggestion, call the airline in advance and let them know about your situation. They may have a reduced rate for the second seat. She can also qualify for advanced boarding which would allow her to get settled in before the other passengers start to board.

woah. im not gonna be mean and make rude comments like i am sure some people are going too... but if you care about your mom you should really encourage her to lose some weight. i don't know if this is a case of bad eating and not enough exercise or if its a medical problem though.

anyways you would definitely need 2 seats. i have been on a flight to korea, and it was 12 hours... but if i had to sit for even 30 minutes next to someone that large who was spilling over into my seat i would be pissed. those seats are small!

also the bathrooms are really small... im not sure if she could fit in all honesty! you should maybe kindly tell her that you want to hold the trip off until next year. at 510 i don't think the trip would be enjoyable for either of you. if you want to see the sites, you will be walking a lot and someone that size would have a really hard time doing that. reschedule for next year and help her with her weight, once shes down to 400 take a celebration trip!

When your booking your seats, i'm sure you can request two seats for your mum, airlines come across this situation a lot. Regarding the bathroom, not sure, ring the airline, whoever you booked the flights with for further info. I'm sure they will be a way to accommodate her.

I don't know about the bathroom but as far as the seats some airlines have the center armrests and the aisle armrest capable of folding up out of the way. That should make it easier for her to get in and out of two seats that you could purchase. Check with the airline before you book the tickets.

At that weight the airline will most likely require her to purchase two seats. It's policy on many airlines. I'm not sure about the bathroom, they are pretty tight. But I assume most airlines should have a handicapped bathroom which she should fit in. But you should call the airline and find out for sure.

Yo mamma's so fat she cant sit on a plane without buying two tickets?

Heh, I know in America if you are too big they make you buy two tickets. Basically if you roll over from your seat into the next guys seat, you're too fat.

being on a plane for that long will kill her. she needs to lose weight now. it is over 7 hrs in the air and she might develop leg problems. go see a doctor before flying.

At 510 pounds, your mom is a pretty hearty lady.
I think 2 seats will be needed.
And the plane bathrooms might be a problem as well.
I suggest Depends, or other "adult assistants"
