What are the benefits of exercising on land vs exercising in the water?
What are the upsides and downsides of exercising on land, and what are the upsides and downsides of exercising in the water?
Thanks :)

Land: takes more time, less effort
water: takes less time, more effort
im not quite sure why you would want to exercise in water. Besides, just a 15 minute swim in the pool can burn off massive amounts of calories in your whole body.

exercising in the water has less strain on your muscles and builds some muscles that you can't on land exercising on land is very bad for your knees if you jog and you can pull a muscle or get a sprain more easily you also get less sweaty in water :) hope I helped! best answer please?

There are basically 2 issues: gravity and temperature. The lack of gravity/flotation allows muscles to be used more strenuously with much less chance of injury. However, it takes considerably more exercise in the water to burn fat because the water keeps the body temp down.

The water will give a measure of resistance but you could lose your footing in a current.
The land will offer a more stable platform, but you have to work harder and could get hurt easier.

with water you will have resistance depending on the exercise. with land there are more varieties or exercises.
