Dont you hate it when?

Question

you book a private trek (your first one since getting back into riding) at your riding school with your usual instructor, a week in advance....and poor management means that when you turn up on the day after looking forward to it allll week, your told that its been double booked and you can only have a lesson instead!

sorry just ranting because it was my only chance to go on a trek before i start my new job, and the management at the stables wasnt even sorry that they messed it up. i didnt want to pay for another lesson, i wanted to go out on a trek! RAWR

Wahoo- i didnt HAVE to take the lesson instead but been as i'd gotten up early, driven to the stables and had all my gear on i thought i may as well have a lesson while i was there. should have made them give it to me for free really, been as they messed me about. dammit

i have been looking at other stables but they are all so far away from where i live, where as this one is only 15mins and my instructor is alrite. its just poor management considering theyre a riding holiday place too you'd expect a better service

Faith- they do have a diary thats kept by the phone in the reception! and when i went there this morning i could see my name and 'private trek' clearly written under the time and date! wtf. some people just do not know how to treat paying customers. its not like riding is cheap!

That stinks! I was looking into getting lessons from a stable. My mom called FOUR TIMES and left messages, but they never called back. When she finally reached them and told them about how many times we had called, they said "Well, you should have called us between 3 and 5." They weren't even sorry!

some people do not have any interpersonal skills whatsoever! they dont know how to treat their customers. after all it is the paying customers that keep businesses afloat! eeeesh

Since it was arranged for you to "trek" and it was the stable that messed up. You do not have to do the lesson. If you don't want a lesson, then don't take a lesson. I am sure that the stable will understand, if they don't then it is time to find a different stable and instructor.

I'm so glad my stables are very well organised. I'm still just a beginner, but the diary never leaves the stable offices so there's no double booking. The phone goes straight through to there and any telephone bookings get put straight down too.

Should suggest it to your stables if you plan staying there - after all they are meant to be there to provide this service to you!

I had the same problem with my old barn.
I had booked a private trek and I ended up having to go the next week because they said the 'reservation had never been made' .. never been made my ****!

I moved my horse Enzo to another barn - soo much happier!
I think you should consider changing, if this problem keeps up.

I think you need to find yourself a new riding stable, these guys sound pretty terrible TBH. And I would also let them know why you are leaving.

Since i have only rode a horse once... no, i dont hate it when that happens, because it never has happened to me.
