Peter Roebuck here seems to have made some good points in regards to the current test setup and actually and properly growing the game of cricket elsewhere...what are your thoughts about this?

I don't quite agree with the author of that article. Ireland shouldn't be considered for test status yet. They need to beat top teams on a consistent basis in the shorter formats before they can be given a go at the Test arena.

While encouraging new teams is a good idea, incessant handouts of Test status, without restraint, to non-deserving teams will bring the standard of test cricket down and lead to many one-sided contests. Test cricket is serious business over 5 days and the top teams wouldn't want to play against teams they know are up for a drubbing.

UHm mate, the previous posts are true. Ye cant just make anyone play test cricket where ye need skills and discipline and not just luck or a one day match winner! Anyone can play limited over sricket but test cricket, nah, i dont see any team outside the present test playin nations.

Ireland can be given ODI Status but not Test Status. Even if Test Status given they will not be in a state to compete the Other Test Teams. Still Zim and Ban trying to improve their status in Test Cricket. So don't make another mistake by issuing test status to Ireland so early
