Difference between shot put shoes with smooth bottom and rough bottom?

i throw shot put in high school and i use the glide techinique. i was wonder what worked better for the glide, the smooth or rough bottom//

You probably want the smooth soles for shot.
Even though you want traction you need to move across the ring with speed.
You should also look into having different shoes, since different rings have different surfaces, some are slick like glass and some are rough and uneven.
