How do I get over my fear of back tucks on the GRASS? Gymnasts & cheerleaders please help me!!?

Okay so I'm a level 8 gymnast...So obviously I can do standing back tucks easily. I've been doing them since I was 10 or so and now I'm learning them on a balance beam...But all of the sudden I'm really scared to do them on grass!! I don't know what it is-It just freaks me out because it's not a floor or something and the grass is hard. So what are some things I should tell myself so I'm not afraid anymore? It's just that whenever I go outside people always want me to do things and I feel like I can't go to a party without doing a back tuck or something so I can't really relax. And now I'm glad it's winter JUST because it's snows so I don't have to do back tucks. Please ! I just need help!! Idon't want to be scared of them anymore on the grass!!!

i think that your worrying about people judging you at these parties and everything, because your obviously a great gymnast being at level 8 (i am at level 7). THere is really no reason to be scared of doing them on the grass, all you've got to do is get yourself mentally thinking that your doing it on the gym floor, after all, you think your safe there don't you? -if that doesn't work, then try and focus on a still object whilst your doing it, like when you do a pirouette in ballet.
-if that doesn't help, i guess more practice on the beam and the gym floor is your best option?!

but there's nothing to be scared about, even if you did fall, you'd only get a few bruises on the grass, it's not that hard?!

good luck (:

just tell your self that it is the same as the gym floor if that dose not work then try to focus on something well you're doing them

Just to bring up a few quick points, people are usually impressed by a back handspring so why not just do that? Also, gymnasts are more likely to get hurt doing something because they are afraid or not entirely committed to doing it, so please don't do it unless you are one hundred percent confident!
That being said, as long as you truly go for it, and don't second guess yourself, and if you are talented enough to work them on the beam, what helps me is thinking what is the worst that can happen? If you are that consistent with back tucks, you should be perfectly fine. Just go for it full out and spot the ground, but don't open up. Of course you can continue practicing at gym, but I really just think it's a confidence issue. Once you feel comfortable that you are not going to hurt yourself, just throw it. I'm sure you'll be fine :]
