I have friends with four kids . They have a Holden Captiva and swear by it. It seats seven - the parents, four children and grandmother when she visits and they all travel in comfort on unsurfaced country roads as well as narrow windy tared ones.
Unless you are a very committed Ford owner I would suggest that you shop around. You can also get some good bargain for second hand cars from government sales of second hand cars that have only been used for twelve months. They change them every year without fail and if your careful you can pick a good people mover for a reasonable price and not very high miles.
