Do you ever attend to your club's Family Days?

I haven't but then up until this last 12 months I lived in country Vic and to get to family days would be a 2 and a half hour drive (one way)...it might have happened if hubby had have barracked for the same team as me but he doesn't.

I remember one time many years ago my daughter who is now 23 was chosen to be club mascot...what a thrill for her and we got free tickets to go watch her and the game afterwards...he dropped us outside Princess Park (Optus Oval) and then my hubby drove to the "G" and watched Richmond because he wasn't going to sit and watch Carlton play...he chose to watch his team over watching his daughter be mascot...so I never did manage to talk him into dropping us at the club for family day...and now she is probably not that interested in going because they are mainly for the kids.

My last club - every saturday arvo was family day - the girls on tarps with rugs on top to beat the bindii burr - chatting - thermos of tea - the home team girls taking it in turn for 15 minutes of canteen duty - the kids from 2 to 15 girls & boys having a kick, plastic ball for the tots.
At half time the fathers would sort out any blues amongst the kids
then back for the huddle, coaches rev. and back to battle. Full time -
no showers so lick wounds, grab a stubby, kick off boots, grab another stubby, front the barby and grab a steak sanger and a stubby,
replay highlights, another stubby, another sanger, subby,spay the aerogard on kids & missus, stoke fire, nother tube, talk about other local game results and VFL from 6pm local radio, find a quite tree, relief, nother stube. few jokes & lotta bull, ave a sother tubby or three, finally argue your as jober as a sudge an not unna the affluence if incahol - and then let the missus pack up & drive home, trying not to go to sleep while she relates all the gossip & decisions zzz made by the zzzzz ladies club zzzzzzz.

Yes, I take my family to most of them. My kids love it.

No because I live interstate and I only get to Melbourne 2 or 3 times a year.

We don't have anything called family days, there is just a Season Opener which is available to the general public.

Other than that there are coaching clinics and sausage sizzles during the year but they are only for a certain type of members. Movie nights and discount days are available to all types of members.

West Coast dont really have anything like that, my cousin who is a member usually goes to events but you have to be a member or a guest of a member to attend. If they did hold them, I would easily go.
