How long did it take you to learn figure skating jumps?
Like the singles, doubles, axel and maybe triples?
It's just a guideline for me, as i started skating last year (age 13) so i'd like to know how long it could take me, although it's different for every person.
Thanks for answering :)
Additional Details
i'm only on the Skate UK level 5, i don't have a private coach but i'm really determined to work hard at the sport because i love it so much! I have group lessons once a week but as the rink is about half an hour away i feel bad making my parents take me. I'd love a private coach but they are so expensive! about £7 for just 15 minutes not including paying for the ice! I'm having a new rink build around 10 minutes away so i should be able to go about 4 times a week then, thanks for your answers :)

As you said it is differant from person to person, but I have been taking lessons for 3 years, during the time when its cold (I skate on natural ice) and I have landed all my single jumps except my axel. I am working on getting my loop and lutz consistent though.
Hope I helped!
Have a nice day!

It's VERY different from person to person. I'd taken group classes (up through FS1) for a few years when I was little, but then was forced to quit because of some stuff that came up. So basically, I could just barely do a waltz jump. I got back into the sport at 12, 13 months ago, and now am doing all my singles and working on a single Axel and double Salchow. I've heard, though, that this was fairly quick; quicker than average. It's really up to your natural talent/gift, your fitness level, your technique (which involves your coach), how often you practice, how many lessons you have a week, etc...
By the way, the Lutz jump is a bugger. ;) And the Axel can take some people up to 2 years to land, since it's the hardest jump, starting forwards. I've been working on mine for 3 1/2 months now, and it's still annoyingly beyond reach! :P Don't give up!

You're right, it depends on the person and how confident they are.
Generally, people don't advance on to doubles until they have all their singles, so this will take some time.
Personally, it took me barely two weeks to learn a waltz (three) jump, a toe loop (cherry flip) and a salchow with a couple of hours a week. I'm now working on a single loop jump and I'm about halfway there after just 10 minutes with my coach and 2 or 3 hours practising. So I'm moving through my singles quite quickly.
It depends on how long you have skating each week and if you have a coach or not, but You should probably get through the first few singles quite quickly. It will take longer as you progress on to flips, lutzes and axels as they're the harder jumps.
Like I said, it depends on how long you can skate for each week, how confident you are in leaving the ice and how long you have a coach for.
Good luck, skate as much as you can and just enjoy the sport :)

Technically, I started skating almost three years now, But I have been taking private lessons with my coach for a little over a year but i didn't know any jumps til' I started lessons. Im learning my axel around december im guessing be because im actually getting new skates in two days so I can settle in my new skates. I have every single jump except my axel. So basically a year or less ( Since I kind of progressed somewhat slow.)
Hope this helps a bunch! :)

it really depends on the person and the jump. i got my salchow and toe loop really fast, i forget how long exactly, almost six months for my loop and flip, about 5 minutes for a lutz, and then right now im working on an axel. so it really varies.

I started skating when I was 5, landed my first axel at age 10, landed my first double axel at age 16. Hope that helps.
