Christians can you help?

Im somewhat scare of God.It totally isnt helped by all the scary stuff in the bible. Some Chrsitians say you not meant to be scared of God(in the bad fear way)
If you wernt scared of God punishing you for ever wrong move you made then for what reason would you have to "do the right thing"?
Like, now, if someone said somethings nasty to me,i wont say something bitchy back because i fear God would be mad/punish me but if i didnt have that reason9which of course i dont want to be afraid of God) then i could relax & what would stop me from being bitchy, spiteful back?
Its like i just not that good person that just doesnt respond nasty back & i dont feel bad when i do
Maybe i just bad person lol?

If you become part of God's loving family, you have no reason to fear him!

"So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus."--Romans 8:1

God will never condemn those who choose to follow him, and live under the grace given to us by Jesus!

"So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”"--Romans 8:15

God loves you dearly like a father loves his children! God is our perfect father, and those who love him are his family.

"The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth."--Psalm 103:8-11

The fear that God wants from us is respect. As humans, we fear and respect other people who are mortal just as we are! God is being fair when he demands a greater respect for him than we have for our peers, because God is greater than any person!

Though God is Almighty, he is also graceful and compassionate. Above all, God wants to show mercy to us, and he doesn't seek to punish us for our sins. He knows that we are ALL prone to sin. That is why he offered us a way to be forgiven of our sins and reconciled to him through Jesus Christ!

We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

"For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, 26 for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus."--Romans 3:22-26

God has also provided a way for us to stop living in sin, and to follow him! It's important to remember that the enjoyment that we get from sin is only temporary, and in the end, sin results in death in this world and in the next. But, the rewards of righteousness are eternal!

"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord."--Romans 6:23

Because of that, it would be foolish to continue in sin instead of living our lives in a good way. When we sin, it hurts ourselves, others, and it separates us from God if we don't come to him for forgiveness.

"We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus. Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires."--Romans 6:9-12

When you place your faith in Jesus, the power that sin has over you will disappear! It doesn't mean that we will never sin again, but if we rely on God for the strength we need, he will help us to overcome the different sins that we struggle with. We can be given freedom from sin, and the promise of an eternity spent in Heaven!

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever."--Revelation 21:4

You must realize that "God is love." (1 John 4:8) The fear that the bible talks about is a fear of displeasing God, not being scared. Fear of displeasing him disregarding things in the bible. Not a scare like a dog is attacking or someone is after you. 1 Peter 3:12 For [the] eyes of Jehovah are upon the righteous ones, and his ears are toward their supplication; but [the] face of Jehovah is against those doing bad things. God realizes that we sin daily due to imperfection, but it's the practice of sin that he does not like. (Hebrews 10:26)

I understand what you are saying.

The fear of the lord is the beginning of Wisdom. But in the love of the lord is Wisdom complete.

God does not want you to be a doormat for the world either. Did you not read that the World will be His footstool? God does not want us to be abusive either. God loves justice. So we should always seek justice. Stand up for yourself, respectfully. Rebuke the sinner so he can be saved.

Romans 3:23 all fall short of the glory of God.

None of us are worthy of His love, but love us He does. John 3:16; Romans 5:8. If you are reading and studying His Word you will find much more. The Bible is one big love letter to us. Yes, it teaches of His judgments and wrath, but it also teaches of His love, and how He will always take us back when we repent and come to Him.

He loves you so much that He knows the very numbers of the hair on your head.

Yet fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 1:7).

This kind of fear may bring you to understanding your sin, but it will also bring you to understanding His great and awesome love for us. Then it becomes a fear of reverence and awe which is what keeps compelling us to live as He would have us live, because once we have come to understand and appreciate His great love, we wish not to disappoint Him. So fear not His love, only His wrath for those who do not believe.

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise."
    (Psalm 111:10)

You might just be getting a spritual wake up call. God is big... you don't want to be on the losing side, that's for sure. I think your conscience is healthy if you are aware of the sins you're committing against God.

But, here this...If you are not a child of wrath, but a child of God, there is nothing to be afraid of.. because He is your Father who loves you more then you could even imagine... even more then your own parents... more then you even love yourself! (believe it or not!) lol.

If you are not sure whcih side you are on, take this test... http://www.wayofthemaster.com/goodperson…
make sure you are in the faith. Also, when you are through, humble yourself by praying to God & ask Him to reveal Himself to you gently & clearly... Ask Him to reveal the truth to you so that you will not be afraid.

God is not a man that He should lie. He saves all who come to Him humbly... and He will never leave you nor forsake you.

    Also... (according to His will)
    "Ask and it will be given to you;
    seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
    (Matthew 7:7)

So, just ask Him, if you do not know or are unsure of something. Man will let you down, but Jesus won't.

    *praying for you* :)

p.s. Dude, what did I say wrong, to get a thumbs down? :P lol.
