If God is so awesome why does he let billions of people starve to death, get raped, get tortured, get ruined..?

This question was asked earlier....

I'm sure many have asked it here.. I'll be willing to admit, before I got saved from my sins.. I used to ask the very same questions.

Here's a nicely laid out explanation of why bad things happen to us in this world...
http://evidencebible.com/witnessingtool/…

P.S. Do you have your own analogies of why??? Please answer. I'd like to know what your views are. :)

If you do not know.. then read the above linked article.

The question of why a righteous and loving God allows evil to exist is almost as old as the human race. Over 3,000 years ago, Job asked, "Why do the wicked live on, growing old and increasing in power? ... Yet they say to God, 'Leave us alone! We have no desire to know your ways'" (Job 21:7, 14).

Nor does the Bible give us a complete answer to this puzzle. Someday in heaven we'll fully understand God's ways—but not now. We live in a fallen world, a world where evil often seems to be in control. But that isn't the whole story! By faith we know that God still loves us, and His power is greater than all evil. The proof is Jesus Christ, who was put to death by evil men but rose from the dead by the power of God. Never forget this truth: Ultimately, God is in control, not Satan.

And someday God's justice and power will rule, and all evil will be destroyed. Satan will be bound forever, and Jesus Christ will reign over all the earth. In the meantime, we say with the Bible, "How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!" (Romans 11:33).

The real question, however, is this: Is your trust in God? In the midst of so much confusion and doubt in the world, have you put your faith in Christ, and are you seeking to follow Him every day? Make sure of your commitment to Christ, and then make it your goal to grow closer to Him every day.

I agree..
lol. funny, I had just finished reading the book of Job, last week! And you're totally right. God is Sovereign. He does what He will. His thoughts are higher then our thoughts & His ways are higher than our ways. But will those who are His, still Trust in Him? Yes, if we want to grow. :)

God is awesome. When he sent us to earth though, he gave us agency (the ability to choose between right and wrong for ourselves). He looks after us and cares for us, but if someone decides to do something bad, Gad will not interfere and take away that person's choice to do bad, even if it will hurt someone else in the process. He will simply help the victim to get through it all. We're all his children and he loves us all.

The Bible tells us about the entry of evil into the universe, but evil's ultimate origin remains a mystery.

Deuteronomy 29:29 seems to apply here: " The secret things belong to the Lord our God." God has chosen to remain silent on this question, which may mean something significant. If evil is irrational, how can its point of origin be explained? Perhaps, then, we should interpret God's silence about the origin of evil not as a refusal to explain, but as a kindness.

Maybe his explanation would, given our limitations, lead us to greater understanding or even heresy.

As our children will one day understand things we don't try to explain now, so one day, in God's presence, we will have the the reference points to understand what now remains a mystery.

Why would God intervene, since man has made it profoundly clear that he wants nothing to do with Him? God has caused none of these things, but is only stepping aside and permitting man to chart his own course, which produces the horrific results we see now. He gave His only begotten to hang on a tree for our sins and we have shown our appreciation by rejecting and mocking that.
Even the great majority of what is called "the church" regularly spits on His name by preaching materialism and humanistic philosophies. Why on earth does anyone expect Him to do a thing for us?

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
    Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
    Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
    Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
    Then why call him God?

people will say that God doesn't exist or He isn't real, you have to understand, if there is good there has to be something to distinguish it as good which is it's opposition evil. Yes there is death, starvation, rape, torture, amongst other things, but you have to think about what else there is there is life, there is happiness, love, helping one another, and saving people from those situations you were talking about.

You agree there is good and evil in this world why can't you believe that there is a God who does all good and a devil that does all evil?

Personally, I think no one is in charge of the good and bad in the world. If God does exist, perhaps he only saves souls and doesn't involve himself with people's lives until the afterlife. Or maybe the Bible is His only way to communicate morals to people. Perhaps God doesn't exist.

Don't you see how strange that explanation comes across? Basically it's saying that it's our fault. However by "us", it really means Adam and Eve. How does that make sense?

Also... there's not just a lot of suffering in this world, but also a lot of injustice. It's not everyone who's killed by tsunamis, just some people. Not the whole world is unsuitable for farming, just parts. If we suffer because of our inheritance from Adam and Eve, does that mean some people are more descendants from them than others?

God is awesome indeed, so awesome that He gave us our free will. We are totally able to choose what is good and noble and right but unfortunately we keep making wrong and even evil choices. He does not promise a perfect or even easy life for us here but He promises that heaven is perfect.

    Here:
Why aren't the leaders of these countries feeding their people? How is this God's fault?

Is God doing the raping, or is man?

    How is this God's fault?

Is God doing the torturing, or is man?

    How is this God's Fault?

    Can we say-"Pass the buck?"

That Evil, as you try to put it in connotation, is a principle of God himself. It pushes Civilization into progress, through which we strive along Free Will to live One with God.

Btw. those who "do not make it spiritually in this live" are given a next one.

Because we have free will. The free will to torture people, rape people, not give people food, etc.
It is against God's Rules to intervene in free will so we can blow up a million nuclear warheads and it won't be God's fault. It will be free will's fault.

The explanations by Christians on this site are better than the link you posted.

The gift of free will is greater than the gift of no suffering.

How else will you be able to show the other side of life, which is love. These are the times to do so. Take these events and show people the higher choice that you already know you are.

I'm sorry, that link does nothing but exacerbate the problem. It doesn't offer any answer beyond, "yep , life stinks."
I prefer C.S. Lewis's response to the problem of pain. that god uses the pain as his megaphone. Truly humanity needs suffering in order to see the need of salvation. Beyond average suffering there seems to be in humanity a need for suffering. Just ask any stranger on the street "what's wrong" and you'll get a list of both life's average suffering, but also suffering manufactured by the person's own mind.

I thought about this and came to the conclusion that it's difficult to define what is suffering. If we can say that anything that isn't comfort is suffering then we are in for a life of constant suffering. To discover what evil is (certainly rape, starvation, and torture is) but what is the definition of evil. when we discover that we can discover it's necessity.

Our God is an Awesome God who Reigns from Heaven above, with wisdom, power & love. Our God is an Awesome God.

I have seen atheists, antichrist, etc. accuse God of all the evils of the world. And they have made them selves gods (judges, elohim) of Yahweh Elohim (GOD). And this is where they harden their heart against Yahweh Elohim. And become hard hearted (hardened conscience). Then also become spiritually blind or dead in trespasses & sins.
Because of their self-righteous judgments, they deny God's existence. Or call God Evil, etc.

The reality is that God is there for every victim of evil humanity. And Jesus has saved many from harms way. But when evil people are in control of a country, the people suffer. And so then one needs to hold evil rulers accountable for crimes against humanity.

Like the genocides that have happened in Darfur, etc. and are still happening today. I have prayed for the persecuted Church who are victims of such things today. I also pray for the innocent & children who are victims. I also pray for those who are satans messengers to do such destruction.
Jesus gave me a dream turned vision.
In a dream, I saw many, young & old, running away, fleeing, between the dark trees, through brush, and they were afraid. Then I woke up. And prayed about it. And the dream turned vision. Jesus stood between those fleeing and those pursuing. So there was silence. Jesus said to those pursuing, " Do NOT think that you will get ANY reward from your Allah for THIS.'. Silence... "These are my children who call on My Name. These are SAFE with Me.". Silence... "And those you have killed, THEY ARE SAFE WITH ME ALSO.".

Jesus DOES do what He Will. But there is a biblical verse that Jesus said to not fear those who can only kill the body. Instead fear Him who can destroy both body & soul in hell.
So really, Hell was prepared for the devil & his messengers. So those who kill & do these evil things to even the least of Yahweh's people, do these things to Jesus. And if these murderers never receive Jesus shed blood for remission of their sins, they WILL die in their sins.

Yeah, people say its because God gave us free will.

There is a major problem with this. Starving children apparently were not given free will, nor were innocent victims of murder, rape, child molestation, etc.

It seems that only the criminals were given free will, but NEVER the victims.

Then this goes into Part B of the explanation, which says that God doesn't interfere because of free will.

So that would actually mean that I'm a better, far more moral and ethical parent than God is, because I'd never sit by and allow babies to die of starvation, or allow anyone to molest my children, or any of a million other very preventable things that happen to innocent people who apparently are not granted this same "free will" as their torturers are.

I'm not interested in reading your article because it looks Christian to me, and I've no interest in becoming a Christian or in anything Christianity has to say.
