Who is the greatest players never to win grand slams?

Question

Which players are the greatest never to win a grand slam of the recent players i mean? my top 5 are
1. Safina ( 3 finals lost)
2. Dementieva (3 finals lost and match point at Wimbledon 09)
3. Janokivic (very talented byt maybe not hungry)
4. Andrea Jaeger (retired too early)
5. Mary J Fernanandez (3 finals lost)

for the women.. defiently without a doubt Elena Demeteva. considering how hard and clean she can hit the ball.. and how consistently... and the great mover she is......

very odd she never won a slam yet... her loss at wimbledon still haunts me! i believe she would have won the whole thing if she got past the semi!

i would say after her it would be jelena jankovic... as she has the greatest defense and is very very consistent...


for the men i would rate it like this

I would defenitely agree with your answers. On this list I would also add Caroline Wozniacki but I believe that she will win a grand slam in the short term. On the men's however, some players which I consider as excellent who haven't won a grand slam are:
