I don't understand why that would mean he's still in F1? His daughter(s) may be very attractive, but they (Tamara in particular) are complete airheads who know very little about Formula One... even less so though than their father!! :P

Bernie is still in F1 because he is the only man connected to the commercial rights holders CVC who has a modicum of knowledge about F1 (whether that is a good thing or not is a different matter)... Bernie has been there, done that and knows an awful lot about a sport he clearly does have passion for, but also has a keen eye for a deal (let's not forget that he hasn't just come in casually as a business concern, he owned and ran the Brabham team with a great deal of respect and success for a long time!)... Sure he may be getting a bit senile, but he is always there to help out teams and drivers if they need it (in times of trouble for anyone in F1, a phone call to Bernie is surely one of the first points of action)...

I'm not defending some of his more stupid ideas/pursuits, such as the Medals System, or his constant contract battles with the supposedly 'protected' Grand Prix venues like Britain and Germany, but until someone steps up and wants to take on all the stuff that Bernie actually contributes to F1, he's the best we got so we should lay off him for now (or at least until his next stupid idea!)

Because F1 would collapse without the old man.
