Is there a rainy season in Palmerston North?

I think Palmerston North is a nice city, but I love the 'wet' season...and the smell of rain...makes everything in nature around you smell so fresh, so I just wanted to know the general weather about Palmerston North. In your opinion do you think its a rainy city, meaning more than half days in a year see some precipitation.

I've never known it to be all that rainy there.. it's just a every now and then thing. It doesn't have a wet season. I don't really consider anywhere all that rainy here except of course the Milford sound.

It looks like it gets about average rainfall..
http://www.newzealand.com/travel/about-n… has a map to show wheere the higher rainfall is in the country.

It has average of 200 rain-free days and Rain actually only falls 5% of the time. The annual rainfall is 960mm. July has the highest average rainfall of 97mm while the lowest is measured in February at 60mm.
So i have a feeling it doesn't rain enough for you there, lol.

No Palmerston North doesn't get much rain!!!
It's got beautiful whether (to me, I hate the rain and wind).

Why do I hate the rain and wind? Because I used to live in Wellington. Where it rains A LOT. Almost non stop. I do caution you that when people call Wellington the 'Windy City'.. theres are reason for it.

Lived in Palmerston North for a year now
comparing it to Wellington... = nothing in terms of rain!

It rains from June to November. New Zealand is made up of three islands, we get plenty of rain and Plamerston Northgets fair bit of wind too. You may change your mind about loving the rain after spending a winter here.
