Can Raffa win the Australian Open again?

It would be good if Roger can fight it out again with Rafael in the Final?and will Roger turn on the waterworks again?

he definitely has a chance to win it, we saw at US open even when hes not fully fit he can get far into GS tournaments. i don't think he will win it though cos federer is playing great tennis and wants this title again. also there are too many players who favor hard-courts, JMDP, djokovic, murray and these are all finishing the season in great form with big tournament wins, if they can carry this form into the start of next season then the australian open will be one of the best for a long time.

and i dont think we will see federer cry over a loss ever again, probably wont see him cry even if he wins. maybe a few tears when he retires but who wont be crying on that day?? :):):)

Depends on one thing... his right knee. If he is still hurt then no.

If his right knee doesn't heal by then, he won't have a chance. If it does, it will still be pretty hard for him to win it. There's other players that he will give him trouble like Delpo, Murray and Djokovic. Also, I will be hoping for a Federer/Nadal final again. Last time they played, it was a nail-biter.

I think Rafa has chance. I would definitely love to see another Federer vs Nadal match! I think Federer has shown more acceptance ever since the Australian open final against Nadal. His come to realize that he's not going to win everything.

Yeah, I think he can defend his title, but its all depends on how his knees will support him in coming weeks.

Not the way he is at the moment he seems to be no match for federer or djokovic .He seems to have lost something

We'll see how well he plays at Barclays, although it's a fast indoor hard court, similar to Paris indoor.
And he will probably play at Qatar to warm up prior to Melbourne. By the way, did anybody legitimately predict Nadal to win the Down under title last year ? But he did.

He has to defend this title in January, if not he is going to lose serious faith from his fans. Why not, he has a good shot just as much as anyone on top. Will he battle against Federer at the final ? It would be grand, wouldn't it ?

Edit ; Rafa's fit going into Barclays, don't see why his knee is an issue ?

that depends on how mr rafa is feeling.. his physical problems.. his knee.. if it healed enough.. so this would enable him to play his hard physical game... and also it will depend on how well he has been training and if he is willing to come to the net more.. play more aggressively.. and flaten out the forehand. not just play defensive...

and it is going to have alot to do with the likes of roger federer, del petro, and djovick.. the draw... if its going to be favourable for rafa.... if there are a few upsets and players not at there best.. it can open up for him

I believe that he does have a pretty good shot at the title again, although I think that a big favorite right now is the 08 Champ, Djokovic...
but Nadal can pull out big when he needs to. I think that he will be able to make it to the SF or better next year, but will ultimately fall to someone like Djokovic, or anyone of the top players...

I would never bet against him. And Federer should be taken out in the semis by either Murray or Novak, assuming these guys reach that stage.

He has a chance. It will really depends on how he is going to play and if he's physically and mentally fit to win. If he is, then he can win it once again! And it would be very nice to have another Nadal-Federer finals.
