Schumacher linked to new Mercedes F1 team? What do you think?

Read the article from the Sydney Morning Herald.
http://www.smh.com.au/drive/motor-news/s…

How awesome would it be if he returns? Upsetting if its not with Ferrari, but just to see the living legend just race again. Would be a treat!

Michael Schumacher was probably the best driver I've seen in F1. (I say probably because we never got to see how good Ayrton Senna could have been.)
I'd rather see him work with Mercedes as an adviser and mentor, not as a driver.
It would be great to see him racing and winning again but I fear he may end up damaging his reputation if he couldn't get to peak fitness or come to grips with a 2010 spec car. There's also no guarantee that Mercedes will have a winning car in 2010 as Brawn's focus on winning this year's championship may have slowed their development for next year.

I want to remember Michael Schumacher as a seven time world champion, not as a has been who came back to trundle around in the middle of the pack.

Love schuey when I first seen that Ross had come back with brawn GP I thought it wouldnt be long till Schuey shows his face in the team so I reckon it may be worth a bet, But as you know many many background politics are around F1, Jean Todd F1 boss, Ross and Schuey back together makes me think favourtism may start within the racing.

Haha I think it is just speculation.

He wouldn't be able to come back for a whole season - that would be VERY difficult for him.

We shall see though - Never say never right?

    Good article

Ross was always gonna pine for Schumie so it wouldn't surprise me at all.
In fact I would love it!
I have loved everything about Brawn GP this year, Ross just keeps getting more and more clever and unbelievably wiley. He has made an absolute mint and I would put money on ross wining again next year-whoevers driving the car.

I said "Yeah, Right!" when i read the article on BBC Sport.

It reeks of F1 PR but is a beautiful story; German Super world champ returns to mentor Ross Brawn in Mercedes Superteam where it all started. It's just too good a story not to try and spin.
The likelihood of a Ferrari icon (Love him, hate him- that is what he is) driving for one of their biggest rivals in the supercar market let alone in Formula One is something i don't think Luca DiMontezemolo would contemplate or bear.

You won't find a bigger Schumi fan that Me, but I am in two minds about a return. I distinctly recall him saying many times about him not wanting to 'Turn into Nigel Mansell going back and forth in the sport'.

Rest on your Laurels Michael, you have earned them.

totally agree with you... if schumi was ever to return, of course i would like it to be on ferrari! (shush alonso, go away, :))
regardless.. whereever he'll land next year, i'll always support him.. moreover if it is with ross brawn, the man behind the 7 WDCs!!! (ooops... with Jenson's win, it's 8 WDCs now right?), unfortunately it is no longer called "Brawn GP".
While Mercedes is the one that "develop/prepared" Schumi with their young driver program, it wouldnt sound as magical as Brawn GP , hehehe :)

Would be awesome but Schuey is 41 in January and just can't see it happening.

If history is anything to go by, rumours in F1 usually comes true.....
