What are some benefits of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics?

There is more employment, more tourists for Vancouver, broadcasting profits, pride for atheletes and citizens of vancouver alike, and accomodations (hotels, olympic village)

Generally the cities infrastructure gets tarted up a bit too... like mass transit improvements and roads getting resurfaced and the like. I currently live in East London and often go past the 2012 olympic site and it certainly seems like a lot of money is going into it.

Gentrification is the buzz word here (in the question, not london).
