Is it okay to be 13 and want to be a gymnast? Do you think I could teach myself a few things at home?
I love the sport of gymnastics. I did when I was younger, but then we moved... Is that a good idea? I haven't been in it in 4-5 years... but I took tumbling for cheerleading and I quit not to long ago. I think I lost my back handspring, but I'm not so sure. We have a trampoline, but since it's getting colder, I can't really go out. But I read some 13 year old girl started 3 months ago and was at level 5! I think I could do it too. I'm not afraid of a little pain.
Additional Details
Another thing is I don't know if my parents will want to pay for it... especially since a lot of the time I quit things. Well, I haven't been quiting things lately...

YES!!! I started 9 months ago and I have my level six skills! YOU CAN DO IT!!! GO FOR THE CLASS!!! I would practice my backhandspring on a mattress. Then, when I perfected that, I went to pillows, then floor. I'm not afaraid of pain, and I'm glad youre not either! I pray before meets though. I seem to do better and have more confidence when I do. I bet you could be level 4 in a month. Work hard believe in yourself and dont give up! I have a lot more gymnastics tips if you want em. just ask on here!

If you're asking about teaching yourself at home, then the only thing you'll learn is how high your pain threshold is and how easily you could get seriously hurt. The best idea is to get some professional training either with a group class or privately.
