Romper - refer details in my question 2 weeks ago - Does this help justify 2 teams in Qld ? 10 years ago Qld too was considered a RL stronghold, but look at the stat FACTS now in my Q.
Are you saying AR isn't up to achieving in NSW what it's done already in Qld ?

The AFL will continue to improve there tv viewing ratings and match crowds its a gr8 game perhaps with a little less tinkering of the rules.
Tassie should have been offered a home team years ago, they support AFL well, saw Hawthorn and Port play in Launceston, huge crowd, gr8 venue, airfares Melbourne/Launceston cheap and Port won, lol.
There are excellent business heads in the AFL so things should continue growing!

to win new supporters & crowds to games.
The others either dodged the question (as did those who didn't answer at all) or
indicated the opposite. I dared asking a confronting question. 3 out of 9 stood up for the code

Another that may be able to support a team in the future, is South West WA, which includes Augusta-Margaret River, Boyup Brook, Bridgetown-Greenbushes, Bunbury, Busselton, Capel, Collie, Dardanup, Donnybrook-Balingup, Harvey, Manjimup, Nannup and has a population of about 123,000.

thanks for posting this lexi.
to me this just backs me up on why darwin wont have a side for at least another 10 to 15 years.
the afl will continue to play and promote games up there for quite some time until it starts pulling some half decent crowds before they will go in with a permanent side.
i cant see townsville nth qld gaining any interest for a while but then again there are always a lot of victorians up there in winter.
which brings us back to Canberra.
i did nominate this place as gaining the 20th licence just after tassie gets theirs.
and not just because there are more people living there. but because it is very close to victoria.
and does make it easy for the supporters of that state to travel there to see a game.

I don't get what point you are trying to make, it doesn't matter how many people there are in Sydney, if they don't like the game of Aussie Rules they won't go to matches, look at the Swans crowds, unless they are in the top 4 or so their crowds are average.

They supposedly love the game of Rugby League but still they get small crowds, it's their mentality, they don't go to sporting events like Victorians do, simple as that.

Tasmania (Hobart) with 209,287 people, now that's different, a way smaller population but people love Aussie Rules down there and WILL go to the footy, if they get their own side they'll pack em in every time they play in Hobart, why the F%$# do we have to worry about the game getting bigger in New South any way, they have a side, why give them more, we pay huge amounts of money to go the footy, entrance, food drink etc and the AFL are just going to piss it up against the wall propping up these new clubs that are doomed to fail.

Watch the thumbs down because I dare not to agree.

Tasmania.... full population is over 500,000 so they could pull pretty big crowds cos people would travel from all over Tassie to go.... the 209,287 figure is just Hobart.
