Should I go out for my High School basketball team?

I'm a sophomore and didn't play for the my high school. I played in a town league. I'm 6'0 180 pounds. I've played 10 years. My shooting is not to good, but everyone I've talked to that played on a travel team said I would have made it just because of my defensive. I am very smart on defensive, and rarely get faked out. I always set picks for the ball handler. My only concern is just my shooting. I'm only good near the hoop. I'm great at reading the floor though, and I'm amazing at passing. And grades won't be an issue. Any advice? and thank you.

If basketball is really your passion... GO FOR IT... You don't have to be worried about your shooting, basketball isn't all about on how many points you contributed in a game.
