    I see the good folk of Australia don't agree with you about everything. Andrew Hilditch, he of the cross batted swish, has been a running joke in England since 1985. Australia have taken a long time to wake up to that fact.

    Clarke is over-hyped. No kidding!

    Hussey should not retire. Strange that the Aussie public lampoon Hilditch, yet back his decision to keep Hussey.

    52% say Lee is finished as a Test player. So 52% of Aussie Daily Telegraph readers agree with me! Blimey!

    Johnson not the world's best bowler. Of course not, he's too mentally fragile.

    Hughes was harshly treated. Damn right, dropping him was no way to treat a young player.

    T20 is seen as a gimmick.

    The IPL is a threat to international peace and security - sorry international cricket.

    Australia has spoken. Hussey stays. Lee goes. I'm happy with that.

    Personally would not have expected such results, Clarke has no doubt dobe a great job recently. I maybe out of loop here but did saw some questions asking if Clarke is a tool, so what exactly did he do to get such back-clash. Personally I never thought Clarke would be a good captain, I don't think he would be able to hold the team together for one. I was under the impression Aussies were happy so that's all that matters.

    Now calling Shane Watson over-hyped is really a big mistake. He has been giving Australia consistent good starts, so calling him over-hyped is very odd indeed. Agree with Mike Hussey no idea what is hindering his performance but he has done remarkable with his Bat & should be given a chance, he's a good batsman. Personally I think Australia need Bret Lee for Tests, they don't really have a good bowling line up yet to fill the void. He is better retiring though if injuries sustained during Tests can hamper his ODI chances. Mitchell Johnson is not a good bowler I don't see how he can be, he is good but not great & certainly not at par with other great bowlers.

    T20 is not surprising, maybe good to watch once in a while but lets face it just a version of baseball. So it seems Aussies are still passionate about their cricket. IPL is a great threat, the money enticing players and T20 format wasting important time that should be used to play actual cricket. It were Indian media and fans themselves saying IPL is over-stretching Indian players and they are burned out. T20 & IPL will have damaging affect especially on Test Cricket, the worry is it might be too late to reverse the damage, especially when people have become bored of Baseball version of cricket.

    Interesting link. I think with the recent retirement of top players, Australia seem to be in that 'rebuilding mode' which I don't they have had to do for decades. It will be interesing with the WI test coming up.

    Hilditch has brought all of this on himself. He is a self righteous and rude man. Michael Clarke is a great cricketer but he pisses people off with his dip sh!t persona.

    Some of the stuff is a bit off like Brett Lee should retire! The people doing that survey must've been on some drugs! He's still got a good couple of years left in him.

    Hussey should have been booted out because until the last test match he has been under performing for a fair while.

    Hughes does have a major problem with the short ball in to the ribs so until he sorts that issue with his technique out then he probably should be out of the side.

    Mitchell Johnson is the best bowler in the world by a long way when he is on song and to back it up he is a good lower order batsman who could bat up the order a long way. This can be demonstrated by the way he bowled in Australia late last year, South Africa and he wasn't the worst by any stretch in either England or India. His batting when he is on song as close to the best in the world to watch as far as excitement goes in the test arena as could be be seen by a couple of innings he made in South Africa one of which scored 26 runs in an over (against who the ICC Rankings believes is one of the top bowlers in the world). This proved he is not just a one hit wonder with the bat as did the 70 odd he made in an ODI where Australia was struggling.

    The most over rated player would probably be Nathan Hauritz. I mean he is OK, but better players exist in Australian domestic cricket like Krejza who got dropped because he was too expensive in India on placid tracks with some of the most attacking players against spin in world cricket. This is despite taking 8 wickets in an innings which would have been 9 had a simple catch not been dropped. He has worked on his bowling and has become a lot more economical and is a much more attacking bowling and better batsman. He's come up with a legal delivery that goes the other way without the bent elbow like the full-time chucker Murali and occasional chucker Harbhajan does with the Doosra. He's a better bowler than Hauritz and a better batsman than Hauritz.

    Madam Bingalee,

    The once that surprised me have been checked (√) the ones not crossed (אּ):

    * VETERAN batsman Mike Hussey should not retire from Test cricket with an overwhelming majority of fans supporting him;

    Of course I am not surprised on this verdict on Mr Cricket!

    * INJURY-PLAGUED former spearhead Brett Lee is on the nose with 52 per cent of fans claiming he is finished as a Test cricketer;

    Obviously the Australian public is divided almost half and half : 52 to 48, so the results are equivocal.

    * ONLY 19 per cent of Australians believe international cricketer of the year Mitchell Johnson is the world's best Test bowler;

    (Hmm...I guess the Australian public turned out to be pretty discerning about this one)

    * FANS believe young gun Phillip Hughes was harshly treated when he was axed during the Ashes series;

    * THE one-day international format has retained surprising support with most fans claiming Twenty20 cricket should not take over;

    Agree

    * FANS worry the billion-dollar Indian Premier League is the biggest threat to the health of international cricket.

    Agree

    But Clarke can take solace from the fact that 55 per cent of fans still believe he is the right person to step into Ricky Ponting's shoes

    Agree somewhat

    I ended up checking none, hence nothing surprised me!

    Yeah, for few of those results I am!

    1. Clarke - Over-hyped? I don't think so. He's one the most reliable batsmen around.

    2. Selectors not doing well? Well the team sent to Champions Trophy and then India tour have done pretty well I think. So why are people complaining?! I guess some are still finding it hard to get over the Ashes loss. But the team is rebuilding they should understand that.

    3. Not happy with the coach? I'm not sure how much influence the coach has had over the team's recent performance. Australia's coaches usually remain low profile.

    4. Hussey should stay? I agree with that.

    5. Lee to quit tests? Then who'll be left as the experienced bowler in the team?

    6. Johnson not the best bowler? Well yes he's not, so why do they want Lee to quit!

    7. Philip Hughes Harshly treated? No. He has alot of time on his hands. What's the need to push him into the team in a hurry!

    8. ODIs better than T20s? I agree.

    9. IPL a threat to cricket? No. Its a lifeline for cricket actually. Talented cricketers now have more opportunities.
