Football/Soccer!! How come players of the attacking team stand in the wall.?

Isn't the point to block the shot?

It's usually to stop the wall from moving, or to impede them in some way. If the shot curves around the right side of the wall (left side for them), the offensive player stops or impedes the defensive teams attempt to stop the ball. Either way it's falls under unsportsmanlike conduct.

I'm pretty sure it's to obstruct the goalkeeper from seeing the ball, so he has less time to react. It also can help stop the wall from moving up, or to the side by using the player as a screen.

Yes , the purpose of the wall is to block the shot it also, sometimes distracts the person kicking the ball.I know when i am playing soccer it distracts me!!! If you play soccer and you are wondering about this the referee will make the people in the wall move back ten yards.

It can be used as a co-ordinated move. The player in the wall either jumps or ducks at the last second depending where the ball is to be kicked. Goalie wouldn't have time to react.
