Richo to join ch7 and Lloyd signs contract with ch10. Why is The Footy Show losing it's big name guests?

Is The Footy Show on the way down?

Are the big name players and former players just sick and tired of the whole concept?

The Footy Show is on a station that doesn't show games of footy so the big names are off to work at the stations that do...as for The Footy Show yes I believe it's on it's way down and has been for a couple of seasons...I'm more than happy to watch Footy Classifieds and One Week At A Time on Channel One (I think).

Yeah mate, haven't heard this news, so thanks for the info.

I'd have to agree with Terrie here, the players probably want to be in on the calling or special comments on the games, Ch 9 has only really got the footy show, the other stations have plenty of games and shows for the retired stars to get their heads on telly.

I hope Richo continues to be as he was when he was playing, not take himself too seriously when he appeared in TV, but having played 282 games and kicking 800 goals, viewers will still have to take him seriously at times, he will offer something to whatever show he goes on. Lloyd has always been Mr Serious, so I don't think we'll see any change there, in fact I personally find Lloyd quite boring to listen to, sorry to the bomber fans but that is just the way he comes across to me, he needs to loosen up a bit.

The Footy Show will always be number one in my mind!

Yes it's not as good as it once was but there's still plenty of die hard footy supporters watching it. If more big names move to different stations in the future then maybe the worrying signs will start and it could be on the way down, but right now it's all good. I dont think the players are sick and tired of the whole concept, they wouldn't give up there Thursday nights if they didn't want to be there.

I hope next year they bring a few different players on the show. It's always the same guys like Crawf, Billy, McVeigh, Thomas etc. I know it's hard because the show is run in Victoria but I'd really like to see more interstate players on there, they havent had a Crow player on the show for at least a couple of years I reckon.

Both regular panelists , Richo is a big loss for the Footy show but I guess they might find some new good players to join the show.

Richo has been great on the footy show the last few years, I was also impressed with his special comments last year on TEN when he was injured.

channel 7 have done well landing Richo, he'll improve their dreadful special comments team (ox & bucks, bleghhh)..

The Footy Show still rates its head off, the studio audience is booked months in advance !
If there is any problem with it, its simply that Eddie is no longer the compere. Its not losing its big name guest's at all.
Richo is now a retired player and the only 'non players' on the show recently, have been Crawf and Billy.
Fev has been sacked, but maybe Big Bad Barry or even Juddy could replace him, maybe Delidio for Richo and the retired Nathan Brown. Footy is a big money and ego driven business, and when appearance fees are on offer NO players will be sick and tired of the concept. The enthusiasm of the Footy show audience is unmatched, by any show other networks produce The grand final show at Rod Laver, has to be the biggest live TV audience of the year. The Footy show can only get Better.

Well watching Lloyd is about as interesting as watching wet cement dry.
Richo probaly has had enough of Sam stirring.
The footy show will be as popular as ever next year.
I think they should try and get Benny to go on the panel.

They arent the only ones, I think people have had enough of Sam, some people like him but alot of people dont. People have had enough of the Footy Show not even giving a rats tossbag about non-victorian teams, I mean hello Fremantle are just as important as Collingwood!

    I also agree with terri.
Why would you want to be on a station that cant show footy.
