What is a good home remedy, to help keep flies away from my dog?

i have special cream from my vet to help with the ears, but they just seem to be all over! any ideas?

Diluted apple cider vinegar sprayed or used as a final rinse will help.

I don't use for flies but for mosquitoes here & it does help repel & heal bites.

I have never found a "home remedy" that worked. Use a monthly medicine like Advantix or FrontLine. Comb the dog with a flea comb. Clean and vacuum your house thoroughly. You can also use Diatomaceous earth on the carpets, furniture and around the windows and doors.

Try this a mate of mine told me when her dog had fly problems:
2 cups vinegar, 1 cup Avon Skin So Soft, 1 cup water, 1 table spoon of Eucalyptus oil, 1 table spoon of citronella oil.
Put it in a spray bottle and shake it then just spray on your dog's coat.

Dryer sheets keep flies away-as long as he does not have sensitive skin rub him with a drier sheet before he goes outside, flies hate the sent for some reason. We use them to keep flies out of the barn and off of the horses.

Bring your dog INSIDE the house where it belongs. The flies won't be in the house and he can live in comfort.
