They Auction cars, and you better be there and see the cars, before the Auction.Some cars do not run at all. you better walk around and look them over. If you bid on them you may have to have them towed or bring your own flat bed . The problem is you can't start the vehicles so there's no way to know if the motor hasn't siezed or what could be mechanically wrong with it unless you (or the friend you bring along) know a lot about cars. My last car I paid $300 for at an impound auction, got it home and discovered that it started but that the right front suspension was crushed (hit a curb REAL hard). Spent another $300 on parts from a local salvage yard and installed them myself then went and got new tires and drove the car for nearly 3 years before getting $500 in trade in out of it when I bought my new car. That POS was a much better deal on a car than the 15k for my new one. There are often cars in much better condition (and many in much worse) than the one I got, and prices vary, but it's worth a shot to try. My PD charges a $1 entry fee to attend the auction and that's it. They usually have a list of the vehicles available on their website at the next auction about a week to 2 weeks before the date of the auction. Check your local PD for info.
