  • What should I do with my mobile phone?

So, my Samsung Galaxy S8 mobile phone broke down just over a week ago and I sent it off for repair to Samsung. They called today to say that the main board has gone and will need replacing costing me £147.

It's not under warranty anymore as I bought the phone in January 2018 but for it to go down after a year and 3 months is ridiculous. I'm so angry.

Questions really is, what is my best option now? Do I pay the £147 and get it fixed or do I just get a new phone? Or are the places that can repair it a lot cheaper, although I think when it comes to repair I would want it done by an official company.

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

  • Can I have FUE hair transplant a month or two away from having major surgery?

I would like to know if it is possible or safe to go and have a hair transplant relatively close to having major surgery. Perhaps 1-2 months apart from each other.

  • Can I get financial cover whilst recovering from major surgery?

I am a transgender female and am having my gender reassignment surgery in early 2020 but I don't think my employers will be paying me my usual salary for the entire 12 weeks I am off work for whilst recovering. Is there any insurance or something else in place that anyone is aware of that will cover my living costs whilst off work?

  • Has anyone sent money to South Africa using the Natwest website?

Has anyone sent money to South Africa using the Natwest website? It's just I'm having a nightmare with them at the moment. They keep asking me for a BSB code but I keep telling them I don't have one and only a SWIFT code. The company I'm sending money to said they don't have a BSB code and have said they have received money before from the UK without any problems. Is this just Natwest being stupid?

  • What's the best company to buy a wall bed?

    Hi

I recently got rid of an old wall bed and I am now looking to replace it with a newer version. I have seen a few companies online that sell wall beds but would like to know if anyone knows of a reputable company or if you have bought one which was good.

    Thanks

  • How do I deal with someone calling me a "Prick" at work?

There is a young lad where I work and every opportunity he's gets he calls me a prick, which I do find very offensive but I choose to always ignore it as I won't reduce myself down to his level by saying derogatory names back to him. However, if I do or say nothing then it will just carry on. What is the best way to deal with this, what could I say back?

  • How do I to take action with a consumer problem?

    Hi there

I am having an issue with a website design company, which is run and owned by one person. I won’t give any details involving the company at this moment.

Basically, I went to visit a website design company on the 20th April this year. I met with the designer and owner of the company and discussed with him how I wanted the website to look. I was told this could be easily achieved and that it could be completed in a week.

The cost of building the website was £300, which he wanted in cash only and a deposit of £150 deducted from the overall price, thus leaving £150 to pay on completion of the website.

In the weeks that followed a rough template was made for the homepage but with the wrong menu titles and other bits that didn’t work just to give me an idea of how it was going to look.

More days followed and it seemed nothing was being done. I managed to talk with him on the phone a couple of times to find out what was happening and said he had fallen ill with a bug and promised me it will be completed by the end of the week. Well that was two weeks ago and still nothing has been done.

He’s turned off his mobile and hasn’t responded back to two voice messages I have left on his work phone either.

I am getting really frustrated by this as I have already given him £150 and am worried that he’s going to disappear and leave me with nothing.

What is the best course of action in this situation? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  • Is a 19 miles (38 roundtrip) commute to work too far?

    Hi

I thinking about taking on a new job but it's 19 miles away which means I'd be doing a 38 mile round trip commute to work each day. Would you think this is too far?

    Thanks

  • Have I left it too late to become a Class 1 LGV driver?

    Hiya folks

I am 39 years old and last year I passed my C+E test and I possibly have a job lined up where I will start on Class 2 to begin with and then progess on to Class 1 within the company as time goes on. My worry is have I left it too late to start getting Class 1 experience? Currenty I work as an agency driver and am permenantly contracted to work for a chain of builders merchants and I take home a good amount of weekly pay, not far off what some Class 1 drivers make. I have an assesment drive with the company I am hoping to get the Class 1 experience with this week but am really in doubt as to whether I making the right decision. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  • How do I describe a car accident?

    Hi folks

Need some help here. I had a bit of a scrape with another vehicle today at work and need help describing the accident in my favour would be nice. This is what I've written so far.....

At appoximately 3.20pm I approached a busy T-Junction on Gatehouse Way and signaled to turn right on to Gatehouse Road.

As I was looking right, I became aware of a car that was signaling to turn left into Gatehouse Way and further behind that was

Mr Ahmed's vehicle. I took this opportunity to pull out half-way across Gatehouse Road to allow an oncoming car approaching from

my left to pass before joining the flow of traffic. I was just about to move off when I immediately checked my right wing mirror and

noticed Mr Ahmed's car only inches away from the offside of my vehicle and I managed to stop quick enough to avoid serious

damage being caused to his vehicle. I got out my vehicle to inspect Mr Ahmed's car which only had a couple scratches on its front

offside bumper. I also took a photo of this as proof should you require it.

I would like to add that this is a notoriously busy junction and rarely is there an opportunity to pull out on to this road with

all three lanes being clear. It is quite common for drivers who are waiting at the T-junction of Gatehouse Way to pull forwards

half-way across Gatehouse Road to breifly stop the oncoming traffic approaching from the right thus

giving the driver a better chance to join the flow of traffic coming from the left once it is clear or until someone kindly gives way.

Mr Ahmed might of had right-of-way but if he had been abit more courteous then this could of so easily been avoided.

I know it will be difficult for anyone reading this as you don't know the area or the circumstances but any help would be appreciated.
