  • C:/ drive suddenly full on my laptop?

Recently, I had to remove McAfee from my Acer laptop because since family protection came out it's been screwing with some of my programs, mainly iTunes. So I removed McAfee and surprise, iTunes started working, and I started to download a bunch of songs and stuff I hadn't had on my computer, but the download stopped in the middle saying my C:/ drive was full and couldn't hold anything more. Also, I removed McAfee before getting another protection, figuring the Windows services would be fine until I could get a different program. Obviously I was wrong, because my memory is full when it wasn't before and shouldn't be now. Did I catch a virus?

  • What exact dollar amount do we have to pay in taxes each year before we can get money back?

Ok, I don't know if that makes sense. I'm trying to figure out the set dollar amount I have to pay in taxes before I no longer owe but the government owes me the "extra" money back I overpaid into taxes. I still don't know if that makes sense. Ok, what is the set dollar amount I have to pay in taxes before it evens out between what I owe and what I am owed? Better? Hopefully. Oh, and just so you know I'm 24 and not doing homework. My mom just told me that for work OT the gov't is going to take, like, half of my OT check in taxes, and that doesn't seem right to me, and now I just want to know how much I have to pay in taxes before I get money back at the end of the year.

  • What books are similiar to the Dorina Basarb series by Karen Chance?

Straight up: I've seen this question answered on here a few times, but I've either read the series or I'm just not interested in it. So let me be more specific: when I say similarties, I mean in the way Chance's characters come off as being real and actually three-dimensional, rather than the stock character most UF series seem to have. I mean similiar in the way it's a non-stop thrill ride with sarcasm and humor and heart-breaking honest in every other page. I mean similiar in that I haven't read the plot in the last three books I picked up by three other authors and can predict exactly where this story is going before I hit page 52. If you can answer this question, awesome! If not, please, PLEASE, don't bother answering. Respect the question for what it is, thank you. Anyway, I don't want to hear about Anita Blake (sorry but slutty chicks aren't my thing) and I don't want to read about anything in the Nighthuntress Universe, because I've read most of those books and have completely lost interest. I'm looking for plot as opposed to how many sexual encounters someone can manage to squeeze into 400 pages. I want a UF book that makes me actually care whether the main character lives or dies, isn't freaking stupid or some major slut that every dude is falling over, and where the book actually has a POINT and by this I mean there's a plot other than "and they fell happily and hopelessly in love after knowing each other four days and shagging thirty and lived happily ever after...until book 2 when you see them again from another characters POV." Sorry, but the only novels I like are JR Ward's BDB series, and, suprise, IT HAS A PLOT BEYOND SEX! If you can help me out, much obliged. If not, all good.

  • How do I fix extremely color damaged hair?

OK: here is a lot of detail: A little over a year ago, I bleached parts of my hair (I say parts because I did streaks or whatever) and I did it twice in one night over the same spot because I wanted to put blue in my hair, but it came out green. Whatever. I went back, bought more bleach, and just kept the bleach in without adding color. So, a few months later (I don't remember how many) I wanted to go back to my naturally color (which is a brown so dark it might as well be black) and I didn't feel like waiting for the bleach to grow out so I went and bought some hair dye and dyed it. Well, my hair was so gross and sticky and dry that I couldn't live with it so the next day I went and cut it all off. I mean, like almost all of it, until I was sporting one of those short faux hawk cuts for girls. It was a lot healthier after that, and I started using that Aussie 3 minute deep conditioner stuff. I got it cut like that at least two or three more times. Well, because I'm stupid, I dyed my hair again back in January to this red-purple color, and got it cut AGAIN. It was fine. Well, in Feburary or March, I went back to dark dark brown. I haven't gotten my hair cut since then because I'm trying to grow it out to the length I had before. My problem is, my hair is not only dark, it's CURLY. And that's rad, you know, I love my girly hair, though that isn't to say I don't blow-dry-straighten/curling iron it from time to time. But, because my hair is so color damaged or whatever is wrong with it, the parts where I originally bleached it don't curl anymore and they're really frizzy and lifeless and dull and kind of just bleh. My question then is this: how do I repair the damage I've done to my hair? How can I get the healthiness and natural curl back without spending way more money than I actually have? I don't hate having short hair, but I would really love for it to grow out, but it's not growing as fast as it usually does and I think that's because I've been complicite in hair murder. PLEASE HELP! I just want my curls to curl and my hair to be healthy again!

  • Does anyone else feel bad for people who refer to the "one true god" like he's the only one?

    Or even the best one?

Who the hell is the one true god, anyway? The Christian one? Why?

  • Help? I need a topic for my essay?

I'm not asking anyone to write my essay for me but I'm seriously burned out on writing argument essays and can't think of a good topic I want to write about. So can anyone just give me some ideas about what would be a good argument essay? I can't do abortion, teen pregnancy, eating disorders, gun control, anything about marijuana and or steroids. I don't want to do euthanasia because that topic is strung out, and I can't do anything that has to do with "God." Can you see why this is a problem?

  • Why is it that silver hurts or kills werewolves and sometimes vampires?

In different books and depending on the mythology, silver is harmful to werewolves and sometimes vampires. But sometimes for vampires it's a wooden stake through the heart. And then with the Fae it's supposedly iron. But the main question is, what is so dang special about silver that it hurts werewolves and sometimes vampires? What's the reasoning behind this metal being harmful?

  • Will you read this poem and tell me how bad it sux or doesn't?

    It's like fire.

This aching, burning need I have.

    So hot it burns,

burns so badly it feels like ice in my veins.

    This need to know,

    to learn,

    to feel it,

    all of it.

It's a fire that threatens to burn my soul to ash

and consume the world with it.

    All those flames,

And what I fear is the need will still be there,

    even when there's nothing left.

  • HELP! I can't stand my friend's boyfriend and I don't know what to do?

My friend is dating this guy. He's three almost four years younger than her. He's really immature and acts like a loser when his friends are around. He doesn't listen to her when she says she doesn't want their relationship to just be about sex. He has a weird personality that just clashes with mine really bad. He doesn't think things through completely and makes rash and hasty decisions at the drop of a hat. I tried to just avoid being around him with the exception of special occasions like her birthday and stuff but now she's getting mad and I had to tell her what was going on. Now she's upset because I can't stand her boyfriend and I don't know how or what to do to fix it. I can't like this guy. It's impossible. What should I do? She's putting me in the position of being a bad friend or hanging around someone I really just don't have enough faith in myself not to slap.

  • Why are people afraid of dying?

We begin to die from the moment we're born. It's always said that dying is a part of life. So if dying is a part of life, why are people scared to die?

I'm not sure if it's actually the act of dying people are afraid of (sickness, old age, accidents, etc.) or actually dying (leaving everything you've ever known behind).

I'm not afraid to die, of moving on and finding out what comes next. So, I'm just wondering why some people think it's scary. It is a part of life. For something that was meant to happen, why is it viewed as something so horrible? This world is made up of people searching and trying to figure out how to prolong life forever. In America especially, death is something most never talk about or celebrate like in some cultures. It's almost treated as something to be ashamed of.

I'm not saying the way I think is exactly right either. I obviously haven't died yet so I can't know all the answers.

I guess I'm just wondering what you people out there think.

I was your puppet, dancing, dancing on a string.

It's not a new song by and means and it has a kind of blues undertone to it. I am being a loser and watching a Lifetime movie called, "Caught in the Act" made in 1993 and this song was on in the background. It was a really good song and now I can't seem to find out who sings it. HELP!

  • Which is the most widely believed rumor for the deaths or disappearances of the Two Princes in the Tower?

During the Counsins' War, when the House of York fought battle after battle with the House of Lancaster in England in like middle/late 1400's, when Edward gained the crown and married Elizabeth Burgandy Woodville Rivers Grey and she became known as the White Queen, they had I think five little girls and two little boys (she also had two sons from her first marriage to a knight named Grey who died in battle on the side of Lancaster). Anyway, during her husbands reign they were challenged many times for the crown against a lot of people. Finally, when they had lived in relative peace, Edward fell ill and shortly thereafter died; leaving his two sons, the Prince of Wales his first born and his second son, along with his wife and daughters pretty much defenseless. His youngest brother was named lord protector, Richard Duke of Glouchester, which meant he would rule England in the name of the boy king until the child could be crowned and ordained. But, like all the York and Lancastrian families, Richard wanted the crown on his head and imprisoned his brother Edward's first born son in the Tower of London. Shortly after he supposedly also imprisoned Edward's brother in the Tower as well, while their mother and her other children waited in Sancutary at Westminster Abbey. From what I get out of it, Richard, formerly Duke of Glouchester and then known as King, had no reason to kill the princes, his only "real" competition for the throne since he had denounced their legitimacy by claiming their father was a bastard son of his own mother and than he was already married before he married Elizabeth, basically naming her a whore and her children being the daughters and sons of a whore. BUT, Lady Margerite Beaufort Stanley and Duke of Buckingham had every reason to kill the two princes in the tower because Buckingham also had claim to the throne and Lady Stanley had a claim to the throne through her son Henry Tudor. To me it seems as though they had much more reason to kill the princes than Richard did because Richard was already king and all his brother Edward childrens were named illegitimet. So now that I gave you that brief history lesson, this is my question. What do most historians of English history believe happened to the Two Princes in the Tower? Where they killed? Taken away? And by who? I have also heard it said that Elizabeth did not give her second son over to the Tower as Edward had been when he was taken but that she spirited him away and placed a pauper in his place? What really happened to the Princes in the Tower? I know that no one could possibly know for sure but I really am wondering just what the most widely believed rumor or half-fact is.

  • What does Robert Frost's poem "Fire and Ice" say to you?

    Fire and Ice

Some say the world will end in fire,

    Some say in ice.

From what I've tasted of desire

I hold with those who favor fire.

But if it had to perish twice,

I think I know enough of hate

To say that for destruction ice

    Is also great

    And would suffice.
