I have a large number of technical pdf files which I want to search through. Some are typed, some are from old scanned documents (so just images). I want to be able to type in keywords and get back the documents with the keywords in the title, or where possible, in the body of the pdf.
Can anyone give me any suggestions on how to start with this?
I don't want to purchase any software (or use any free stuff due to licensing issues at my workplace) . Just now we have an old version of Acrobat reader which wont allow me to build an index. I also have Microsoft Access available.
Ideally it will be accessed on the company intranet via a web based interface.2 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade ago
I have looked on the internet and found loads of advice saying treat it with RICE (rest, ice, compression and elevation). Will that be enough? My ankle and lower leg is really swollen and sore.9 AnswersInjuries1 decade ago
I need to read in a list of words (don't know which words or how many so it needs to be dynamic) and calculate the frequency of each. I was thinking of either doing a balanced BST of records or a hash table of records. Each record storing the word and the number of occurrences. Also a global variable storing the total number of words to calculate the frequency with.
Any better suggestions than mine. I am thinking the hash table would be best but I have never implemented one before.5 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade ago
How many ways are there for a robot to travel in xyz space from the origin (0,0,0) to the point (4,3,5) by taking 12 steps, one at a time, where a step moves one unit in the positive x direction, one unit in the positive y direction, or one unit in the positive z direction? (NOTE: moving in the negative x,y, or z direction is prohibited, so that no backtracking is allowed). Explain your answer.3 AnswersMathematics1 decade ago
