So I was planning on buying a betta fish today. I was researching online and it said they're tropical fish so they do need a heater. So I was prepared to buy my tank and everything I needed for the fish and let the tank cycle. But when I got there the woman laughed and said all of that is pointless. She said betta fish don't need heaters or what not and the fish would be ready to go. So silly me, I listened to her and I bought a fish today too. So I set up the tank, added the water conditioner and then a little while later I added my fish. The water doesn't seem too cold but my poor fish is barely moving. Is there anything I can do at this point to prevent my fish from dying? I'm going to the pet store immediately tomorrow morning to get a heater, a filter and a silk-like plant. But is there really anything I can do for him at this point?
