  • USA/EUROPE NINTENDO 3DS GAMES HELP!?

I recently bought my son a game for Christmas from Amazon USA (as this particular game does not have UK release date). I was assured that the game from the US would be playable on a European 3DS console.

Long story short; my son was unable to play this game on his console and is now devastated.

Does anybody know of a way in which my son can play this US version game on his European 3ds console?

If you could be of any help my 14 year old son and I would be so grateful.

    Thank you in advance :)

  • Research Methods and Evaluation...?

I need some assistance with this, please, if you can.

    Below is a research study and, if you can and don't mind, I would like to know what you think in regards to the following;

-Which Research methods to use to collect data?

    -Who from?

    -Why?

I have some ideas myself but I think it's a good way to 'triangulate' what other people think too.

    Thank you so much.

    Research Study 2011/2012

You work as a social worker in a team which specialises in working with families experiencing difficulties with teenage children. Typically, the difficulties range across problematic behaviour at home, involvement with the police, alcohol and drug misuse, behaviour problems at school and truancy.

Last year, two social workers in the team devised a potential new way of working with these families. They developed a structured programme to take place over three months which would involve one of the two social workers having individual meetings with the young person on his/ her own, meetings with the parents on their own, and meetings with the whole family, including siblings. In addition, there would be groups where six of the young people would meet together.

Senior managers were impressed with this idea, and told the two workers that they could run the program twice, after which they would arrange for a researcher to evaluate the initiative to help them decide whether to continue running the programme or not.

The second of these programmes has just been completed, and it is now time for the research to be conducted.

The original plan had been to commission an external organisation to conduct the research, but intense pressure on the budget means that the senior managers now wish to complete this in-house. Your team manager is aware that you studied research methods as part of your training course, and asks you whether you would be prepared to undertake this research. You agree.

12 young people have been involved in the two programmes, as well as 20 parents (including 4 partners who were not birth-parents of the young people on the programme) and 22 siblings. Your two social worker colleagues have been the only workers directly involved, but they have discussed the programme and the families in supervision. The two social workers held case responsibility for the young people and their families whilst they were engaged on the programme. For the purposes of this study, you do not need to know any further details of the programme.

You have been told that you can spend 12 days, or 90 hours, on the research, and you can choose how you allocate this time, provided the research is completed within 8 weeks. You can also draw on 40 hours of administrative/ typing support. In addition to this 40 hours, the administrator will also type your final report – this final typing is not part of your allocated 12 days/ 90 hours.

You can have free access to a computer, programmes to analyse data, recording apparatus, reasonable transport costs, stationery and printing.

You have also been given £250 for any additional costs.

You must explain which method(s) you will use to collect your data, who you will seek to collect data from and how you will analyse your data. You should carefully explain and justify your choices, and in doing this you should demonstrate that you understand relevant research concepts. You should also show how your design takes account of ethical issues.
